Bill, do you ever take photos of the birds? I'd love to see some.
This time of year my favorite thing to see in our yard is big fat robins. There have been a bunch of them perched on the railing of our little deck or in our crabapple tree, and they look so funny and adorable when they puff themselves up to stay warm!
Dagmar, good luck with selling the house! DH likes to say when people worry about not being able to sell a house, that any house will sell if you offer the right price. If it's not selling after a while, I'm sure your realtors will adjust the price accordingly until it does. And I totally understand wanting the house and dog. We bought a house when we did mostly because I really wanted a dog!
Becky, winter is much better when you have a vacation somewhere warm planned.
We're not going anywhere this year, but I like to schedule trips to visit my parents in LA for the end of Feb/beginning of March. It's miserable here that time of year but absolutely gorgeous in LA.
Cherry, I'm glad you managed to overcome your internal debate and enjoy your evening!
Saef, to pull forward from last week's thread, I hope you managed to find something to take pleasure in this weekend. I have to admit, as a non-religious person, that the whole "striving and then you die" thing has never bothered me. Since I don't believe in an afterlife, I try to enjoy the things I have in this life. Sure, sometimes it's hard and sometimes I get in a funk, but if you add up all the great little things, I think it's worth it. If you're still feeling down, maybe a call to your therapist might help?
Megan, to answer your question from last week, it's pretty much doctor's orders. Everything is healthy so far but like Andrea said, the risks for preterm labor with twins are higher so they are more cautious. I'm approved for walking and prenatal yoga, and I'm not supposed to start anything else without getting doctor approval first. I'm pretty sure they'd okay something like water aerobics, but that's about it. The general rule is to not do anything too strenuous, and if whatever I do makes anything hurt, stop immediately. Mentally, it's frustrating, but on the other hand, I'm not really physically capable of doing much at the moment.
I did make it to prenatal yoga yesterday after missing the past few weeks because of my lingering cold. Being around other pregnant women is kind of hilarious for me because my belly is about the same size as the women who are due next month, except that I've got almost five months to go.
We watched part of the super bowl last night, then went to sleep early. DH is a little disappointed that he missed the best parts of the game, but he says he'd rather be well-rested this morning and watch the highlight reels than have stayed up late and been exhausted today.
In other news, there might be a leak in our master bathroom somewhere. DH has all these plans about cutting open the drywall to find out what's wrong. I am kind of like, why don't we just hire someone to do this for us? I mean, I get that DH is trying to save money, but as much as I love him, he's really not much of a handyman.
