I did call, but of course, I got an answering machine. (Because if you own horses, you really live down at the barn, not in the house.) But I've left my name and number to make reservations, and I'll call again if they don't call back. But of course, they will call back. It's their business.

Dagmar, thanks. And Bargoo, too. ;-)

saef My first time trying windsurfing (25+ years ago) I was so busy worrying about how my thighs looked :yikes: and whether I would destroy my hair  by falling in the water that I didn't have any FUN! :( This time around I will probably be at my first windsurfing class with a bunch of twenty-somethings. They will all pick it up by the end of the first lesson and I will be falling in the water still. But I will be laughing and enjoying myself whether I learn the sport or not.

Everyone learns at their own pace. And so shall you with relearning horseback riding. No need to be perfect immediately. Perfection cancels out so much of life's spontaneity and fun.

Sounds like fun activities for both of you! :D

Ohh, windsurfing. Sometimes I think it'd be fun to try, but I'm too crappy a swimmer for that. The only 'swimming' activity I'm at ease with is scuba-diving (but there's no interesting place to do that where I live).

The somewhat 'funny' part is that I've had a few conscious thoughts of "I want to eat something to fight that stress", followed immediately by "WTH, how can you want to *eat* with your mouth in such a state, silly!" The downside is that I don't find any pleasure at all in eating *good* food either. It's all "let's put that stupid fuel in my stomach and then go do something more interesting", and I don't know if this is such a healthy attitude either... (When I say good food, I mean healthy meals, or the gourmet kind. Whatever. We Frenchies are supposed to be suckers for gourmet meals. ;))

I forgot to mention that I will have limited internet for the next week (dogsitting) so I won't be around that much.
