Thank you, friends! I've only just seen this thread, nudged by midwife.
One of yesterday's highpoints was a visit to the gymn, alone, where I saw no-one I knew and spoke to no-one. Heaven. Time on my own is part of what keeps me healthy and I've had little of it for weeks. So that was lovely.
The other highpoint was getting my Dad's desk out of the car and into our office. It was good to look at it and think of him. (He died a few years ago.) Some of you may have read how my 84 yo uncle and I (55 at that time) wrangled it out of my Mum's house through narrow doors and along. passageways. It is solid and does not come apart. We did brilliantly and are actually operating pretty well as a partnership. We split some particularly truculent perennials in the spring using two forks, back-to-back, and brute force. It blows all those stereotypes about old people and women out of the water.
Thanks again, everyone. You're all so good to know.
Thank you, Kelly, and thank you, saef. I am in bed and need to be asleep soon. Beauty sleep, you know. An hour before midnight is worth two afterwards.
