Stopped taking the prenatals I've been on since January, as we have been trying to conceive. After a couple of days, my weight dropped back down to 142 and has been there ever since.
Interesting. |
Mindi - Interesting that it dropped when you dropped the vitamins. Hm.
|
I heard a long time ago that taking vitamins cause weight gain. My mother is 88yrs old, when she was much younger she wouldn't take them for that reason. Maybe it's true!
|
Everything online said they don't, but I sure think they might. Maybe, like someone else said, I was already getting an adequate supply of iron in my diet, and adding more on top of it caused my body to rebel? I don't know...will get back on them eventually and see, I suppose.

It's all that iron. It weighs more than fat.

So glad to see that this helped. You could always try an iron free formula. Just to see what happens? Boomer |
I'll ask and see what I can find. I have a horrible time swallowing pills, and have to use chewables...will have to see what's iron-free and chewable.

Spoke too soon. After two days of fewer than the maximum amount of sodium recommended for me in a day by Sparkpeople (2,300 mg), my weight shot up to 145.8.
Back on the vitamins now. No point in not taking them if they didn't cause the problem anyway. I've about decided to just keep doing what I'm doing. If all goes as planned, I'll be shifting my focus from maintaining a weight to gaining healthy weight while pregnant within the next couple of months anyway. So I'm going to try to stop stressing out and focus on eating cleaner, better-for-me foods. |
