Regainers Thread#5 - 15+ lbs - May/June 2011

Welcome to the Regainers Thread!

This thread is for 3FC members who lost weight, reached their goal or decided they were done, and then for whatever reason regained--and are currently fifteen pounds or more above original goal. (This number is arbitrary, but it's to distinguish a regain from simply going up a few pounds.)

Of course, any member may post here, as is 3FC's policy.

-----

I thought I would start a new thread, in case anyone would like to post. If not, that's OK too.

I started Medifast a little over a week ago, and was doing well on that program. I lost 3.5 pounds in a week. Unfortunately, I have a food intolerance to protein isolates. I knew I had had trouble with soy protein in the past, but I hoped I was over that. I'm not. Over the last few days I've started having symptoms, and they have gotten worse every day. Plus the whey protein products seem just as reactive now.

Medifast is pretty much based on using soy or whey protein isolates for several meals a day. So, bottom line is, I can't do this program. I am seriously bummed out about this, man.

But enough about me. If there are any other regainers out there who would like to post about your thoughts, what happened when you regained, or what your plans (if any) are at the moment, please do.

Jay -

That's bad news but, as Wendalyn says, side effects are not cool. Are there any principles (for want of a better word) you can take from the Medifast diet to stitch into one of your own? Or are there other similar diets which don't use the trigger ingredients?
