I (Mudpie), not oboegal, am the diet cola poster child. And coke zero is the bevvie of choice for me too.

People really ought to separate "healthy eating" from "weight loss eating." You can lose weight on a steady diet of ANYTHING, as long as calories in are less than calories out (see this recent article for an extreme: http://health.usnews.com/health-news...ight-loss-diet). That doesn't mean the food is optimal for your health, but what is optimal for health is very unclear, as evidenced by the ever-changing set of dietary recommendations put out by nutrition scientists. Just my 2 cents.

Totally right! I have been able to lose weight on a number of "fad" diets but never managed to keep it off the way I have with healthier eating.
