Fruitlady, if you want to not drive yourself crazy, you cannot expect to weigh the exact same thing every day. Fluctuating a few pounds over the course of the week is totally normal. Maybe one day you had something salty, and the next day your weight is up a pound -- it does NOT mean you gained a pound of fat overnight. It's just water fluctuations.
In order to determine whether a particular number of calories is making you gain or lose, I really think you need to give it at least a week at that level, preferably two weeks.
