Good news! I found my yogurt! I thought it was the Oiskos brand, but I when I ventured into WalMart to look for it, I looked at it and just knew it wasn't right. I remember it being vanilla with honey and the Oiskos was plain with honey in the bottom. So I stopped at Henry's market (it's kind of like Trader Joe's but more organic) and they had it! It turns out it's Voskos brand. I bought the last 8 they had!

Hi all, I've been MIA because of a hectic work and yesterday's anniversary day. DH and I both took the day off and went for a 1.5 hour snowshoe hike at Crater Lake, then saw Iron Man 2 (skipped the concession stand) and then went out for dinner. My dogs are mad that they weren't spoiled the entire day through.

Ms Perception, welcome to a great group.

Michele, I hope your animals and daughter start to feel better. You've had a heck of a week.

I did read all the posts but have surrendered to the fact there were too many to respond to individually. So a blanket hi to everyone!

Food and exercise right on target although yesterday's cals were hard to calculate since we went out for dinner. When I logged the appr cals in LoseIt I read the list back to DH and he thought I did pretty well. Today chocolate is calling me and I'm trying to wear my earplugs.

I've been shopping!

I got a little part time job and today I got paid for the first time in 8 years! :carrot: So I bought this -

I have lots of black bottoms to mix and match, so now I'm ready for summer!

Ward, very cute tops. I love the top one best. I bet you'll look amazing!

alinnell 05-08-2010 10:24 PM

Marie~we went to see Iron Man 2 as well. Good show, can't decide if it's better/worse/same as the first, but it was entertaining. And happy anniversary! DH and I celebrate ours next week.

Ward~very cute! Congrats on the job.....my only question for you is how on earth do you score so high in Bejeweled???

Going golfing tomorrow morning. I think we'll take DS's video camera and take shots of each other hitting...perhaps it'll help us a bit. We're still planning on lessons though.

Ms Perception 05-09-2010 12:41 AM

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I'm having a successful week, but Mother's day will NOT be within my cal range due to breakfast in bed courtesy of my kids and brunch (lunch) with the family. No complaints, of course. It's a special day and I will enjoy it (without being crazy)!

alinnell-DH and I have considered golf lessons. I think I'm still too raw, but who knows. We recorded our swings at the driving range last fall, but I still haven't watched mine...shame on me. Ah well, it's all for fun anyway.

WardHog -Very cute swim wear! Do you mind if I ask where you bought them? I'm a big tankini fan. Wasn't brave enough to wear one until last summer, and it was SO nice to not have a one-piece. I need a new one (downsizing :D)....time to shop!

Mudpie 05-09-2010 07:29 AM

We went to see Ironman 2 last night. Is it just me or is there something hot about Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark? DH bought the snax and I confess to having two mouthfuls of M&M's after he handed me the bag he'd bought.

Congrats on the job Wardhog. Cute tops too!

I have a two piece that I ordered last summer but I decided my obliques weren't ready to go out in public. I just ordered the Women's Health Big Book of Exercises so this summer I'll be ready!

Enjoy your day everyone who is or has a mom!

Happy Mother's Day to one and all.

WardHog 05-09-2010 11:42 AM

Happy Mother's Day!

Allison, re: bejeweled - lots of practice!

And Ms. Perception - the suits are from athleta: http://athleta.gap.com/browse/division.do?cid=46656

They have a lot of cute stuff!

Have a great day, all!

midwife 05-09-2010 11:48 AM

Alinnell, getting the correct Greek yogurt is a VERY big deal! Glad you found the one you wanted.

Ward, cute tops!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

motivated chickie 05-09-2010 01:15 PM

Ward, those tops are smoking.

It's Mother's Day and going to visit mom. I don't know how you moms on 3FC do it, I barely have the energy to take care of myself. I chose to be child free 25 years ago and I don't regret it one bit. But my sister is a mom to two children and I LOVE being an Aunt.

Worked this weekend on my maintenance attitude. I told myself that overexercising and undereating is not the maintenance way. So I ate more and moved less the weekend. Although I admit I feel like I ate too much and didn't exercise enough. It will be interesting to see what the scale says tomorrow.

alinnell 05-09-2010 06:32 PM

Athleta and Title Nine both have really cute active clothing. It's hard for me not to order anything from them! And Ward, I guess I need to practice a lot more!!!

Dagmar~just seconding you on the Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. Humminna hummina!

Ms Perception~we're going to do a single, hour long lesson at Golf Tec where they look at your swing and give you pointers. While I'd really rather have several lessons with a Pro, we just haven't had time to look for someone. We actually have a friend who is a Pro and DH and FIL have both had lessons from him (when he worked at a local golf course) but he got laid off and is selling clubs now and doesn't seem interested in us paying him to teach us. I tried all last summer to spend a couple hours with DS and he wasn't interested. I gave him a bad time about it too. I don't know what his problem is (was).

Hi Everyone,

Peeking out from lurkdom. I just run out of time after i read all the posts.
Well today marked my first official race -ever.
But I'm kind of sad - instead of celebrating my accomplishment - i am beating myself up :(
I started a 10k run clinic with the goal of running it in under 1 hr. My finish time was 1:04 - and i feel bummed about it.
I should cut myself some slack - as i am recovering from an ankle sprain from 3 weeks ago.
Does anyone else feel like their own worst critic?
If i was easier on myself - life would be more rewarding.
Sorry for the blither.
-S

Ms Perception 05-09-2010 10:32 PM

WardHog-Thanks! I'll be checkin' those out for sure.

sznn-Aren't most of us our own worst critic? I know I certainly can be. I'm working on it though. Congrats on completing the race in such a good time. That 1 hour mark will give you a goal for your next race. This summer I have 4 races planned, so I hope to meet my goals, but if not I will survive and move on to the next goal.

alinnell-Sounds like a good plan to do the hour long session and work from that for now. I have SO much room for improvement that it might be overwhelming to have more than that for me. I really only started golfing last year. DH is slowly getting me better equipt, which helps also! :D

midwife-Just curious if you have a certain Greek yogurt you'd recommend. I have only tried it once, but it was plain fat free so I could use it in cooking. I didn't actually eat it just with fruit or anything to get a real taste for it.

alinnell 05-09-2010 10:55 PM

sznn~don't beat yourself up! You were so close and with an injury you did incredibly well! I doubt I could have done it! I usually do 5K's in 38 minutes...so I'd be way over an hour. You did well--especially for your FIRST race!
