I was asked to dance!
 

Hi, everyone! I've been lurking on these boards for a long time, but this is my first time to actually post. I'm 22, and I've been overweight for most of my life. In 2008 I changed my way of eating, and I've been maintaining a 50 pound weight loss for the past year or so. This may sound crazy, but I've never had a boyfriend, gone on a date, or even been asked to dance. Today I went to a birthday party with some friends and a cute guy came up and asked me why I wasn't dancing. I told him that I don't like to dance because I don't know how. He insisted on teaching me. Although I stepped on his feet a million times, it was amazing! He was giving me direction the whole time, and he was just so nice. He asked why such a pretty girl has never gone dancing. I just laughed, but in my head I thought that he has no idea...no guy has ever called me pretty before. Even though I know that there are plenty of overweight girls who go dancing and meet guys, I believe that my weight had always been holding me back. Even if I never see that guy again, I will always remember this night. I just love "NSVs" like this!

That is awesome. Hehe, good for you and way to rock it! Btw, I went to a nightclub a few months ago for the first time since college--and since losing weight. Wow. I wasn't prepared.

We sound similar...I'm 21 this Thursday and I've never had a boyfriend or been on a date either, and I've been overweight my whole life too.
