Just Curious...
In the 7 years of maintaining my weight, I have learned a lot about myself. Here are a few of them I'd like to share:
I know, that I do best with 3 meals a day and two snacks (approx 3-400 calories for main meals and snacks between 150-200 calories) I do better when I eat a protein, carb & fat at each meal. (2-1 carb to protein ratio) I need to eat within 1500-1800 calories daily to maintain my weight. I know that denying myself my favorite foods (for long periods of time) ensures an unhealthy binge. I know I need to plan my meals the night prior/keep a food journal. I know that if I'm going out to eat I look up the menu online to get an idea of what to order. I need to weigh my food to keep tabs on myself. I know support from other weight maintenance blogs is crucial. I would love to know what other maintainers feel they have learned along the way... |
I am not a maintainer yet, but after 1 1/2 years on my journey I am almost there... Thank God!!!
And now I know: Which foods trigger binges on me and I keep them out of my home. I have to plan my next day food to bring to work. I need to pack my gym bag and keep it on my car and drive to the gym after work, everyday so I’ll HAVE to work out. I need to have a treat once in a while to keep myself on my plan and make sure I won’t go back to my old eating habits. Whenever I have a binge I need to get right back to the wagon on the next day. I need to stick to my plan even if the scale doesn’t want to move... If I do that it will eventually move down, otherwise it will move, but up. |
I'm not totally there yet, but I have learned that I am going to have to pay attention to what I eat for the rest of my life.

^^^^^^^ that's for damn sure.
