Midwife - that is fantastic! Love the benefits of strength training!
|
Super, Midwife.
My hairdresser - who I haven't seen since before Christmas - asked me yesterday if I'd lost weight. :) Not to speak of, but apparently weight training works for me as well.... |
I went shopping with my sisters over the holidays - love those after Christmas sales! We went into a shop I'd never looked in before; White House Black something. I have a lot of trouble finding clothes that fit these days, and found they do carry some of the smaller petite sizes. However, I was absolutely floored to fit into a size 00 short jeans. Yes. zero zero. I know because of vanity sizing and all, that sizes are getting bigger. But 00? Oh. My. Goodness. And they looked awesome! (Not your mom jeans, for sure!). Several years ago I was into size 10's and even those were getting tight.
I've never paid $88 for a pair of jeans in my life, and rarely buy things not on sale, but you can believe that I bought these! :D |
LOL MBN, my last (first) trip to White House Black Market also ended up with spending way too much money, on the little black dress that I posted about in this thread a while ago!
|
MBN - I find I love White House Black Market now, too. Would never have gone in it before, it was just one of those places where my SIL shopped. Congrats on the jeans! Totally worth the price tag. :high:
Pat - glad weight training is working for you, too! :) |
Bumping to say....
Yesterday I was rushing out the door to DD's track meet. I asked her if she had a track T-shirt I could wear. Each season we buy one or 2 T-shirts from the team sales and I can wear M or L....anyway, brought into me one of the shirts that she decorated herself with puff-paints. These are shirts that the girls buy on their own and then decorate with inspirational sayings. She buys M and S but they are a different brand than the shirts that are mass-produced. It never occurred to me to ever even consider wearing one of her special puff-paint shirts that she makes for herself. Anyway I fit into it and so there you go! |
Midwife - :high: Fantastic!

Yeah girl :)

Bump for a little NSV...
I just was booked on a last minute business trip, involving a plane flight, for mid-next week. Because it's so soon, of course the flight is full...nothing but middle seats left. My first thought was "ugh". But the next thought was "Wow, I'm going to be so much more comfortable than I would have been before, when I couldn't even lower the tray table for my laptop because it hit my stomach before it got all the way down". |
Yay! :cheer:
|
Airplane seats are such a cool NSV, Amanda! I still get a kick out of tightening my seatbelt and pulling out about 18 inches of strap. As for middle seats, I'm lucky because I'm short and fairly small now, so middle seats aren't a big deal. I've offered to trade my aisle seat to bigger folks who are stuck in the middle seat because I know how uncomfortable that can be!
|
Amanda, that feels great.
I can't remember who said it here and exactly how it was worded, but it was something to the affect of, by being slim, "I'm in a constant state of readiness". And I love that and think it's quite fitting. I am ready for anything. :) |
True about airplane rides. I just got back from CA, and it was so nice being smaller on airplanes, hiking on trails, fitting into the scene. I even think my hair got blonder:-) Might be the recent highlights:-)
|
Since I've kept my 25 pounds off for 7 months now, and I'm defining a redline, I thought I might post this as my first Maintenance NSV:
NSV - thought I'd put on the lower body shapewear that made several clothing items livable about 15 pounds ago, and they don't even do anything any more - no muffin top, no butt lift, no thigh squeeze. Very cool! |
