Robin, aren't you glad you had developed these good habits and lost the weight years ago instead of trying to figure out how to eat healthy and manage all of this?
I am so glad you are having this awesome time. You earned it.:carrot: |
Jessica, I don't know what a hanging leg lift is, but whoo hoo for being able to master and conquer it!
Robin, you are amazing and an inspiration to us all. Enjoy this fabulous time with both of your daughters. My NSV it kind of a bummer and good rolled into one. DH was laid off in February. Bummer. He is still unemployed despite looking ardently. But I have maintained! I continue to eat well, exercise and get plenty of rest. In the past, his unemployment would have sent me into a tailspin emotionally and I would have responded by eating compulsively. I have not missed a day of exercise and while I don't always eat the best, I'm on track 95% of the time. My shutting down emotionally and overeating will do DH no good. I need, and want, to take the very best care of myself, for my family and me. |
Loser, that's an awesome NSV (or actually, a scale victory!) You really have made permanent changes in your life and your relationship with food. :carrot:

Loser, that is a great NSV!
A hanging leg lift is kind of hard to explain, but I couldn't find any good pictures. Basically there is this apparatus which has two horizontal metal bars which you put your forearms on (they are padded) and hold two grip bars at the end, and you hold yourself up so all your weight is resting on your forearms (your feet are hanging about a foot off the floor). Kind of like how you'd hold yourself up for dips, but on your forearms instead of just hands. Then you bring both feet directly up in front of you to about a 90 degree angle with your body (I couldn't get quite that high). |

Bumping again to say:
The scale is higher than I would like and I am working on it. But once again I am delighted to NOT be the mom sitting on the sidelines. DS # 2 (7 yo) has joined cross country and the little guys run 2 half mile loops. The coach likes to have a second adult when they run and last night I was the second adult. I mean, it's not the Boston marathon, but I love that I can run a mile with my kid just cause the opportunity presents itself. :carrot: |
I love this, midwife!
|
I love it too. It's such a fabulous feeling.

That is fantastic Midwife!

I pulled some clothes out of the closet, which are from the early 1970s.
Mended a couple of things and put them on! It's grand. Haven't been this size since 1999. Am hoping to find some more old favorites. |
Fantastic SilverLife! Woo hoo!
|
Shannon, thanks for your kind thoughts! It does feel grand.

I bet some look pretty fashionable, SilverLife.
There are a lot of what I call 'hot pants' around again but worn with tights. (Not saying you're going for that look!). And some of the prints and patterns are just the same. |
