Shorter hair with bangs would be a great look for you, I think. Give it a shot! If you don't like it, it will grow back out! :)

Bargoo, this is exactly how I cut off my long - to my lower back - off quite a number of years ago. The first time, to my shoulders, was the hardest. Now it's just below my ears and I've never looked back. Of course the first time when I told my hairdresser to cut it off, he asked "you're sure?" and when I said yes, and told him how much, he immediately cut a large chunk - he'd been wanting to cut it shorter for months by then..... :lol:

And here I am--growing my hair back out!

I think that shorter hair tends to look better. I like myself with shorter hair but I'm growing it out right now "just because". I plan to cut it again but not sure when.

how short was yours? Mine was practically shaved in the back and sides with the top a little longer. That was about 2 years ago. I'm now just barely touching my shoulders.

If you click on the '6 months at goal' link in my signature it shows a picture from my wedding in 2006 (with a few other short hair pics from other years) that was at almost my shortest point and then pics from just a couple of weeks ago. It was shaved and stacked up so much in the back that my managers used to tell me I had "Ricky Schroeder hair", it is just getting to my shoulders now.

I cut 6 inches off and made bangs!

Go for it! I cut mine when I started my weight loss - kind of a "new me" symbol. I donated my hair to "Locks of Love". I really like it short much better! So much easier to take care of :)
I have had bangs since I was 3 (with a short respite in the 70s when everyone had long straight hair with a part down the middle :lol:)

Likewise - my hairline is too high for my face without bangs - but I did long straight parted-in-the-middle thing too. :)

I have never had bangs. My face can get very round. Now I have cheek bones. :D

Grrr, wandered into Ann Taylor today, they had like TEN black dresses. I still like mine, but sheesh!
