Anne - I hope your knee improves soon. Speaking of missing maternal genes, honestly when I hear about all the troubles people have with kids sometimes it makes me want to never have kids. Losing sleep to take care of whining and crying kids who I never get a vacation from? Sure doesn't sound like fun to me!

Busy day today after the long weekend. I'll stop by later... |
Got the results from my bone scan. not what I hoped for, I will be seeing an oncologist on Thursday.

Hi all,
I dealt with tropical stormy weather from Hurricane Gustav all weekend, but we didn't get downpours like last weekend (TS Fay), so I was able to be outside a bit more. I went to the big city and got a microwave and a few smaller necessities for my new house and also stocked up on bulk items at the co-op and went to the "real" grocery store. Robin, I get really excited about buying food, too! I'm moving the weekend of Sept. 13-14 but I'm being impatient. I can't wait to be roommate-free! Jessica, sounds like a fun weekend and you did great with food choices. Lol, I've hauled a lot of things (furniture, canning jars, fish tanks, plants) all over the country "because they're free" rather than spend money. I like to re-use things for new purposes! Anne,. You are a wonderful mother, and you are not starving your son! You, your DH, and your doc will work together to figure this out. And you'll work with your knee to figure out how to get a good workout (running or doing something else) when you can. Freda, after years of observation and study I've concluded that I have no idea how "naturally thin people" do it. Oh well. It is about balance and paying attention to your own body, I think you're right. Joy, I'm echoing the "the baby is 1?!" sentiment. It doesn't seem that long. You're not a "bad girl"! I'm glad to see you. Dagmar, I'm sorry to hear you're having a bad day. Perhaps you could suggest to DH that you'll get or make a "treat" for the upcoming weekend, rather than letting him bring something totally unhealthy, and find something delicious but not sabotaging? Some really delicious gourmet cheese (small quantity) and wheat crackers? Figs are in season - maybe find something delicious to make with them? How about fruit picking (like midwife). Go on a kayaking/camping weekend, or try something new together. Start a new tradition for the two of you, together. I hope your dad's insurance situation gets straightened out and you are less stressed. Lily, you sound just like me. I tell myself I'll have a better workout if I buy new workout pants, etc. It doesn't help me either, but I still feel better, lol. midwife, your fresh raspberries sound delicious! Robin, wtg being so OP! I get excited about food too, "even" if it's healthy. I love it if it tastes good, period. Meg, no need to apologize! You're recovering from surgery! Gotta run and get some work done... have a great day all! |
bargoo, so sorry to hear of your results. Please keep us posted .
Jessica, that digging up the rocks is a great idea (and good exercise too). I should do the same thing as I'm wanting to put rocks around all my small bushes that I planted last summer. Anne, I'm sure you are a wonderful mother. We all just get stressed at times when the demands on us are high. Sometimes breast fed babies do lose more weight at first, I'm sure he will catch up though. Supplementing the feedings with formula is a good idea too. DH left back to work this morning. Now I have computer time again. Megan, we're getting lots of rain here too. Surprisingly good news in the mail today. The CSED finally started garnishing DH's XW's pay for child support and we got a pre-loaded Visa in the mail. Woohoo, she's stuck paying it now. So now I will take Shelbey shopping for some new clothes and stuff. (gotta remind myself that I can't buy myself anything else after my big shopping trip this last Saturday, lol). Of course, Shelbey is bugging us to death for a car! She passed her driving test last week, lol. |
bargoo, I took a while to type my earlier post and must have missed your post. I'm sorry to hear about your results. Please keep us posted. You're in my thoughts.
|
Megan and Lilybelle thanks for your concern. Strangely I came here before telling my family. They know I had the scan but they don't know the results. I will tell them after I see the oncologist.
|
oh, bargoo, I'm so sorry! You're in my prayers.
|
Bargoo, I will be thinking of you and praying for you. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
Anne, hang tough, lady. It is HARD to deal with multiple small children and it is normal to have moments of "Ack!" As for starving the kid, weight is an important aspect, but so are poops and pees and milestones. I'm sure the thought of counting poopy diapers is stirring maternal emotions in Jessica! Hi Freda, Allison, Megan, & Lily! |
Hi everyone!
Just got home after an extra long weekend at the shore. On Sunday, we actually walked the three blocks up to the beach from the bayside and went swimming in the ocean. It's finally warm enough for me to go in it. First time this summer. We had 3 Hobie Wave races this weekend and I could have gotten a first place in the first race, but I got confused and thought I had to round a mark one more time. Ended up in 3rd and actually beat some boats even though I sailed the extra distance. Silly me. Ended up 2nd overall, so I got another glass mug trophy to go with my 1st place trophy from the 4th of July race series. I'm sipping my iced tea out of that one right now. Last night we took 3 other couples out on our sailboat for a sunset cruise. We got a late start and there was barely any wind, so we just ghosted along in the current. The sun seems to be setting so early now. It was pitch black when we docked. On Friday, the scale read 120 but I decided not to move my ticker just yet. Too many BBQ's, cocktail parties, and other over eating during the long weekend. But I was able to zip up my skinniest jeans on Friday. Another 5 pounds to go before I feel comfortable in them. Meg - you are just too hard on yourself. You're recovering from two major surgeries at the same time. You're aloud to skip posting during this time. Megan - thanks for asking about my DH's collarbone. He's all healed now and even went waterskiing this weekend which puts a real strain on it. Every now and then the screws in titanium plate bug him, but he has full range of motion from all the dance therapy he did this winter and spring. Lily - are you still walking in addition to walking all over the golf course? Who do you play with? Joy of seven - you should post a group photo of your troop. |
Thinking of you, bargoo.

bargoo - :grouphug:    I'm so sorry about your test results. You are in my thoughts!
Megan - forget the "baby is 1" sentiment, I was shocked a while back that you and BF were celebrating your third anniversary! I remember you posting about just meeting the new guy back on the 20-somethings forum! I'm glad you get to move soon, being roommate-free is the best. Lily - I'm so glad they're garnishing her wages! Finally something is going right with your custody issues with her. |
bargoo, thinking of you.

Stay strong bargoo. It'll be hard but at least you'll know what you're up against and can form a plan. Let us know what you need to hear from us.
