Just saying Hi really early...we have our big planning presentation to our client this morning. I have to be at work around 7:15 since the meeting starts at 8...It was supposed to start at 10 and the client moved it to 8! Hey! The office doesn't technically open until 8:30!! I'm being good though---I'm eating breakfast at home so I can bypass the "breakfast pastry" tray. I'm sure I'll be a little hungry, but there will be a fruit tray as well. Lunch is gourmet sandwiches and mixed greens, so I'm hoping I can do well there.
Have a great day! |
Good morning everyone,
Suddenly all these errands pop up right before I'm leaving for my friend's wedding. In reality I probably just didn't quite plan ahead enough. I'm just going to have to take a really long lunch today until it's all done, so I can go home and pack tonight. I ate a little too much dinner last night - didn't need to eat so much steak, didn't need a piece of cinnamon toast for dessert but I wanted something sweet. It wasn't terrible calorie-wise, I just didn't stop eating when I was full. I will try to be more mindful today. DGAdDawg, good for you - I'm sure a healthy breakfast tray exists, but I've never seen one at a business meeting. I hope your presentation goes well. Hi Cyndi! How kind of your cats. You don't need to stay within a set range to be on maintenance - any weight that you have lost and kept off is maintenance! Glad to see you around here again. Lily, are you kidding??? You're putting the roof on??? Sit down, slather on the sunblock (or better yet go inside to AC and slather on some lotion), drink water, and rest! I can't even begin to imagine how tired you are! It's great to hear that you have an address for Shane and he gets to come home for a few days. Sheila, happy anniversary! Allison, your mom's fall was a bit scary. Is there a chance her mobility will improve more? Congrats to your DD on her graduation and her accomplishments! Michele, great NSV! I thought about switching to Nuvaring or an IUD a few months ago, and I know the stats are good but I just knew I would constantly worry about them falling out! I decided to give different BC pills a shot first, and I like my new brand much better. I can always check if I've taken my pill. I read a story posted on 3fc a few months ago where a woman's daughter would take her nuvarings out of the trash every month and developed a nice bangle "bracelet" collection that she wore to school. Her teacher realized what they were and called her mom. Oh, my! Have a great Tuesday everyone! |

Okay, aside from all the TMI posts, my office is having a "dessert bar" this afternoon. I need a plan of attack! |
Welcome Cindy! :welcome2:
Just popping in to say I won't be around much today. I have to report to the convention center in less than an hour to help set up for DD's graduation. See you all tomorrow (when i will be back OP!). |

Cyndi, I'd go with the revenge theory. Cats are crafty--and vengeful, IMHO. I love my cat, I really do. :) Dawg, stay strong! Hope your presentation goes well. Megan, :D love that story about the Nuvoring! Jessica, I'm cringing when I read about your doctor visit. The idea of them rooting around in there. . . shudder, shudder. Hopefully, everything will be okay with no surprises. Allison, have fun at graduation! Bring Kleenex. The floor guys are putting in the new floor in my kitchen and family room. I'm either going to have to wear headphones or leave the house for a while. Luckily, I have lots of errands to run. It will be so nice seeing the new floor and the new cabinets together. Since I'm going to Idaho next week, it will only be the rest of this week and the last week in June before the kitchen is done. Enjoy your Tuesday! I'd enjoy mine more if it was a little warmer than a high of 59. |
I haven't checked in for a really long time, and when I do, you guys are talking about labor discomfort!! Eek!! Now that's something I've been giving a LOT of thought to lately!
I'm due August 1, so I'm pretty enormous these days. Let's not even talk about how much weight I've gained. I feel pretty good, though, and thankfully haven't had any problems with the pregnancy. I'm healthy, the baby's healthy, and I have about a kazillion more things to do to get ready for the boy's arrival. Thankfully, I'm out of school now and have lots of free time, but the next few months will pass quickly, I'm sure! Happy anniversary, Meg, and Lily, stay off the roof! Everyone else, it's good to read you and I'll talk to you soon! :) |
A belated welcome to Cyndi! Congratulations on the losing phase, both of them! I don't get to post in here often anymore, but the discussions we've had in this forum have been really pivotal in my maintenance.
Meg- another belated wish...Happy Anniversary! You are a year behind us on the official date ;) Allison- for when you get back, congratulations to your dd! I hope your mother doesn't feel too shaken to enjoy the festivities. Jessica- losing that ring is kind of creepy.... I'd be afraid it was still in there somewhere and would reappear at some horribly embarrassing moment. Hope everything works out for you with no surprises. Midwife- I have no recollection of what noises I made except for cursing at the steady stream of interns with baby #1. She was an unusual presentation and they all wanted a peek and a "feel"! I was reminded repeatedly that I was in a teaching hospital and had signed the forms that I knew that :p All is well here...food and workouts on track, but I'm at the upper end of my maintenance weight. I'm working on getting back under. Mel |
Good morning! Another hot, sticky day here. We had a few thunderstorms yesterday but they didn't really cool things off much. The gym has been so ridiculously hot, even first thing in the morning, that I shorted out my headphones with sweat yesterday. :dizzy: Fortunately, I have a spare pair so am off to do it again today. Am I crazy?
Wow, Lisa, you're on the final countdown! How are you holding up in the heat? I remember swelling up like a blimp when it was hot out. Don't worry about weight gain now and just focus on a healthy pregnancy. You're a pro at this weight loss business and will have no problem getting any leftover weight off again once you have the baby. Have you resolved the name issue? :) Good to see you again, Cyndi! Tomorrow is DH's birthday and he wants a German chocolate cake, as he has for the past 30 years. I'll pick up the ingredients today and pysch myself up for baking without licking or tasting tomorrow. Fortunately, he requested linguine with clam sauce for dinner, so that won't be a problem for me. Off to jump into my gym clothes and work up a sweat! Hey, I bet I lose a lot of "weight" this way. Hope you're all staying cool and have a great day. :) |
Yesterday didn't go quite as well as planned. I did avoid the breakfast tray, helping myself to a big plate of fruit around 10:30, but lunch...lets just say, bite-sized desserts are bad news for just about everyone! Today will be back to normal, exercise included.
A guy I grew up with got his first MLB start last night for St.Louis! Exciting. It would be more exciting if we were actually friends(we just never got a long). I believe they won. So tired! Tonight is a little cardio, yoga, and cleaning my apartment because my parents are coming up in a couple of days! Sorry for no individual responses, but I've been keeping up! Have a good day! |
Update on the TMI about Nuvaring . . . TOM started today, so I am officially NOT pregnant. Phew! I still have no idea where the ring actually went though. Since TOM started I know it's not still in there, but I haven't found it anywhere either. I am seriously concerned that if it fell out in the bedroom the dog may have eaten it. More likely it either went down the toilet or will turn up next time I vacuum. :p Now I just need to check the prescribing information to see if it coming out a day early means that next month's will be less effective.
I will admit, I munched at the dessert bar at work yesterday. :o But I didn't take as much as I normally would have, and I skipped some of my planned snacks to make up for it and had salad and fish for dinner. No harm done as my weight is down today. Work is about to get really crazy. Some VP decided that instead of delivering our software in 2011 (already an aggressive schedule), they want it in June of next year. We're working on a reduced feature set but it is still a pretty tall order. |
Jessica,
Glad your TOM came! I'm sure that is a relief. I officially hit my goal this morning. I hope that I can keep it there as the next week (really the next several weeks) will prove to be very difficult food and exercise wise. I was very proud of myself today though because I really didn't think I would be able to fit in exercise. Dd is "promoting" from 8th grade today and I am busy working, carpooling, etc. for tonight and then we are eating out after. I woke up at 2:30 because there are tremendous winds here and branches were hitting the house (which fired up the cats so they were racing around!). I couldn't go back to sleep so I went to the gym and got my workout in. I never go before work but I did today! Hooray! I now officially weigh what I did on my wedding day almost 21 years ago. That is a good feeling!! |
Hi all,
Well I'm at work but came in late b/c I just had to get to the gym this morning and get in one last workout before my trip (since I usually work out in the afternoon). :p I'm going to try not to obsess about workouts & food and just make calm decisions and have fun with my friends, but I couldn't resist getting one last one in. My airport food is packed, and I'll land in Boston around 10:00 tonight, then up to NH tomorrow w/ 2 of my best friends/co-bridesmaids. We have all been calling, texting, and emailing each other and are really excited. It's been about 3 1/2 years since all 4 of us were together at the same time. I've got my dress, shoes, and jewelry in my carry-on and am just hoping to have decent airport luck, and not spend any nights in any airports, as is my usual terrible airline fortune. Jessica, glad to hear there are no surprises! It probably came out in the toilet. Michele, way to fit in a workout. Sometimes we surprise ourselves w/ our flexibility. DGAdDawg, enjoy your visit with your parents! Meg, if you're crazy I think a lot of us here are. (And is crazy really so bad?) I think the NE heat wave is about to break, I hope you get some relief soon! Lisa, hang in there and stay cool. We're thinking of you! I guess I'll be back sometime next week. Have a great week everyone!!! |
Jessica - Good luck with the big project at work!
Michele - Congrats on getting a workout in when you're busy! Megan - Have a good trip! Meg - I used to make German Chocolate cake for most occasions because I hate it, so I knew I would never eat a piece. I had a great recipe for it, which I've lost since (and I'm horrible at remembering recipes). I'll have to find another one. My husband loves it and I still hate it, so that's good! I haven't actually resolved the name situation -- I think we're just going to name the baby Henry and then see if a nickname develops. If not, I'll just have to deal with having two Henrys in the house. We always call the baby "Bean" at this point. The heat is bad, but I'm pretty much staying in the house these days. It's been around 99 or 100 here the last few days, and I've had a cold! Summer colds are icky, especially when you're pregnant!! Hi DG, Mel, and everyone else! |
Good morning! Graduation was a success. DD graduated in the top 10% of her class so she got to go first (she was about the 17th name called out of close to 500 students). No tears--just a lot of whooping and cheering. The audio system wasn't the best and it was hard to hear the speeches, but all in all a good night. We went to dinner afterward and I had a huge margarita--hence my weight is up this morning, but I'm BACK ON PLAN!!!
|
Michele - congrats on hitting goal!!! :cheer:
Megan - sounds like you'll have a lot of fun at the wedding! Lisa - a friend of mine is pregnant and they refer to the baby as their "potato." I like "Bean" though, that's what I call DH sometimes! :o Allison - congrats to your daughter! I ended up getting called near the end of my 700-person graduation from high school -- people were running all over talking and celebrating already by then. The scale told me I was 136.2 this morning, so I am crossing my fingers that Friday's "official" weigh-in will put me in the 135 zone -- at my red line! |
