Yay, GoalSuccess! You'll never know exactly why your weight returned to normal, but thank heavens it did. It must be a huge relief to be back in the zone. :bravo: You sure have some terrific incentives going on for maintaining and exercising. It really helps to have goals to focus on and keep us motivated.
Yum on the Farmers Market. I can't wait for summer fruit and produce! All winter I was burned out on salads, but now I'm totally enjoying them again. For dinner last night I had a big (I mean BIG) bowl of mixed greens, with carefully measured out portions of blue cheese, pecans, pears, shrimp, and scallops, in a homemade citrus vinaigrette. Soooo good (it was a high-calorie dinner, but I planned for it and made low-cal choices for the rest of the day). I made it to the gym but not Macys yesterday, which is probably for the best. Gym again this morning and then I need to clean one of the bathrooms top to bottom, closet, window, blinds, the whole deal. Then ironing, so it's a day with my two least favorite chores. |
Meg--
It would drive me crazy if my gym didn't open until 8 and then you had to rush for the machines! I am fortunate to have a 24 hour fitness that is actually open 24 hours. I feel like I have no excuse not to get my exercise in at some point during the day! I did make it to Macy's but didn't buy anything there. I did buy a pair of pants on sale at Nordstroms though. Macy's was just a zoo and the clothes deeply discounted were fall/winter and I need spring/summer clothes in my new size. My dd is still in WA for the weekend. She must be having a good time because we haven't heard boo from her. I guess it gives us a taste of how much we'll hear from her in the fall! Hope everyone has a fantastic Sunday whatever you have in store today. |
I'm totally stalling on doing anything useful. It's so much more fun to play on the computer. :D
Michele, I would love, love, love a 24 hour gym! I hate waiting for it to open at 5:30 am on weekdays, let alone 8:00 am on weekends. I'd be in and out by 5:00 am, come home, shower, eat breakfast, and get on with the day. :carrot: Pittsburgh is finally getting a Nordstroms this fall and I can't wait! We don't have a lot of nice stores, so people here drive to Cleveland just to shop there. The store will be a 45 minute drive for me, but I don't care. Next I want a Whole Foods and a Trader Joes. Oh yuck, do I have to go clean the bathroom? :p |
Morning! It's finally looking like spring may come here in the far north! :) Yesterday was gorgeous, in the 50's and :sunny: I did a 3.5 mile walk instead of going to the gym for cardio. Felt really nice to be out in the sunshine. Today is also nice, but a little cloudier. DH has gone out with his bird watching friends to a hawk watch. About 2 hours from here is a pass which is a major flyway, and hundreds of raptors come through every spring. Today is the "official" day for watching, but of course the birds have been coming through for about a week now.
Today, I'm taking myself in hand. I got back from vacation last Sunday (well, early Monday morning) and I have not yet gotten back to "normal" eating! I was thrilled that my weight stayed the same, but it won't if I don't put on the brakes! You may remember that this was a hiking vacation, so I burned plenty of calories, but now that I'm home and back to work, I'm not burning as many. You gals are lucky with your gyms. Mine is open early - 5:30 - on weekdays, and 8 on Sat. But it's totally closed on Sunday! Plus they close for every holiday, and often more than one day. It's a family owned business, and I suppose they're thinking of their employees, but it's annoying. There are 3 other choices, but the only one close enough to consider is an "express" gym with 90% cardio equipment, only a small corner of free weights, and no shower. The other two involve more than a 1/2 hour drive, which with gas prices the way they are ($3.55/gal yesterday) is not a viable solution. Soon however, it should be warm enough to ride my bike for more outdoor cardio! |
Hi everyone,
We had gorgeous weather today and Lacy asked me to take her fishing. So, just the 2 of us spent the day fishing. It was fun. She took her camera and took a picture of the 3 largest fish she caught. All of mine were small and I had to throw them back. We gave hers away to some people fishing near us cause we didn't want to bother with cleaning 3 fish. I'm not sure I would know how to use the fillet knife anyway, that is DH's job. LOL. Meg, I'd gladly clean your bathroom, if you'd do my ironing. That's my least favorite job of all. goalsuccess, Big Congrat's on losing the 8 lbs. WTG. I know you must feel so much better now. I recently had a run in with a huge gain while I was sick and was super relieved to finally get back in my goal range. Last night I started painting Shane's room. I picked a teal color. It's pretty, but once again darker than I anticipated. Oh well, I'm starting to like the darker colors with the new wood floors and light country white trim. I also painted the built- in shelves in the hallway. I may finish painting Shanes room tonite, if I get a burst of energy. |
