3beans,
I hesitated to respond as I have only maintained my weight loss for 3 months, but my goal was 10 lbs above where I am right now. My secondary goal was to get 15 lbs below my goal weight to give myself some space for Christmas. I made that 15 lbs below my goal weight the week before Christmas. I liked 175, but for whatever reason, I have found myself fighting myself (if you know what I mean) to keep the scale at 175. I am almost to the point of saying, well heck, 180 ain't bad. Note that I said almost. I liked 175, but I , too, have to decide what I'm willing to do to keep 175. I like the way I look now, I'm in a great size (have lost 7 sizes since I started--even losing one through working on toning with a personal trainer since Christmas). I'm okay with 180, I just like 175 better. Maybe my red line will even end up being 185 as my goal really was 190 and I'm below that.
I don't keep track of calories. The program I did had me eating certain amounts of certain foods (i.e. proteins, starches, fruits, vegs, etc) I am curious about the calorie part and am thinking I should check out fit day which so many here use. Maybe I could put in what I eat and it will tell me how many calories I'm doing. I'd love to trade some of my healthy stuff for another starch (I am a starch lover and know in my heart of hearts that is probably what made me overweight, so I might not have enough guts to add another starch in exchange for fruits or vegtables). Anyway, I hope you find the weight YOU are comfortable with..the one you're willing to see often on the scale. I can't say I have totally decided. My weight loss counselor said I might be a person who has one stabilization weight for summer (when I'm far more active and able to have time to work out) and another for winter--don't know if I agree with that idea, but it's one to consider too. I have 7 weeks until I weigh in for my 6 month visit and will be paid (woo!hoo!) if I am within 5 lbs of my goal weight. I'm using that money to buy new summer clothes (the ones I bought last summer fit someone 50 lbs heavier than me :)
