The 89 quake that hit the Bay Area was 17 years ago today.

I still remember my home shaking and sounding like it was going to fall down around us.

We were very lucky here. The World Series saved lives.

I remember that! I was in Salt Lake City, Utah, and yes, we felt it that far away. I was at work and the waiting room at the hospital had the TV turned to the World Series. I'll never forget Al Michaels turning from sportscaster to newscaster that evening.
And to think I now live along the San Andreas fault.......
