I have an aunt that drinks Tab still religiously and keeps several cases in her office. I remember they used to keep it stocked in the vending machine at work for her, but that was several years ago. I wonder if they still do... hahah.

OMG - what memories!!! LOL. I was just a kid when Richard Simmons was big on TV - but my mother was really into him and ordered almost everything he ever had!

My mom and I were always sweatin' to the oldies after school! So much fun!

But yeah - those deal a meals were crazy! I remember my mom trying to show me how to use them. I was never that interested...lol.

My mom had one of those little supermarket check-out aisle books - "The 555 calorie-a-day diet". She used to go on that a few times a year - can you imagine? 555 calories?!?!? All of us would steer way clear of her when she was on that.

I remember that - it came from Are you there God, it's me Margaret...one of my favorite books. Ahhh to be a kid again.

Someone also mentioned Figurines, I loved them! I looked for them for years and found out they were discontinued.

Does anyone remember the exercise machine from the late 80s/early 90s that you used for sit-ups? It had a spring and two stirrups for your feet at the bottom.

oh my gosh, my mom had that sit-up thing with the stirrups and spring! i used to play with it when i was young and then occasionally dig it out when i got older and started to want to firm up my tummy.

does fresca have some sort of weight loss significance?

Fresca was first sold in 1963, it was one of the first diet sodas.

I looove Fresca :) But I now limit my diet sodas to probably 1 a week it is hard for me to find in a 20 ounce bottle. If I got it in can I would drink the case it a day or 2

Oh, thanks for mentioning the Food Mover. I ordered that about 10 years ago, it's the more convenient follow-up to the Deal-a-Meal, right? I found it when I moved recently. I agree that it looks like a good idea, and it's just a convenient way to track what you're eating. It just didn't work for me.

Everyone in my office is very hyper-weight conscious (and we're all overweight), and we do a gag gift exchange at Christmas. I was thinking of giving my whole Food Mover kit then.

I get how the Ayds thing could work. I was thinking about getting some hard candy to suck on all day so I'd avoid my officemate's candy jar. And drinking a hot beverage with that before a meal would obviously fill you up before you ate.

I'm so glad we have slightly better diet plans and ideas these days!

i had no idea Fresca was a diet drink. I DO remember everyone drinking the Diet Rite pop though. ICKY!

When I was in high school I had to work out to that Jane Fonda record in my PE class. Dreadful. Then they made us break into groups and make up our own exercise videos1 It was terrible.

I don't remember the sugar free/diet candies my mom would get but they would come in a tub, tasted a lot like a fruity cough drop, and my mom ate them literally by the tub-fulls. hehe.

Oh Lordy how I remember this thing! My mom had one and my sister and I would play with it!!! I can't believe I forgot about it! I remember chanting the 'we must, we must' song, lol! Little did I know that I would not be needing to sing that tune...got the big boobs gene from dad's side of the family! :o

It's ok, I think kids still read that one. If my brother ever manages to have a girl I am so buying her that book!

And admit it, you tried that against the wall exercise the girls were doing to increase their bra sizes ;)

He has a channel on Youtube under TheWeightSaint and posts workouts in his studious. They look like a lot of fun.
