Need Some Christmas Recipes Please
Hello All! I'm so glad I found this site. My darling daughter is an LA Weight Loss Member and I am trying to find some recipes to use for Christmas...especially some for a brunch. My menu usually includes sausage balls, quiche, fresh fruit, gravy & biscuits & assorted jams & jellys. Does anyone have any good tried and true recipes for any of the above that would fit the LAWL diet plan? I know the gravy & biscuits & jams & jellys are probably out, and that fresh fruit is good, but what about the rest? Any and all ideas would be soooo helpful and thanks in advance!:)

Hi Mom2 - I think its terrific that you are being so supportive of your daughter's efforts. I'm not a recipe pro (we do have quite a few in this forum), but for starters:
- you can make turkey sausage using ground turkey, cumin, morton's light salt, pepper and sage - for the quiche, try subbing with egg beaters and reduced fat cheeses, also fat free sour cream is allowed on our plan as a condiment - sugar free all natural fruit spreads (like Polaner All Fruit) are also plan-friendly Hope this helps, Carmen |
Also in the recipe thread is a recipe for on plan biscuits. I know I posted it before we had our recipe thread. If it didn't make it in there, let me know and I'll post it.

I just posted a broccoli omelet bake and a recipe for turkey sausage and buttermilk biscuits for you. I haven't had the omelet bake, but have made the sausage and biscuits and they were REALLY, REALLY good!

Thanks so much! I will certainly give these recipes a trial run! On the turkey sausage, did you use fresh ground turkey or the frozen kind? I've never used either one before, so I'm not sure. I plan to use these recipes exclusively, and not prepare anything different for the rest of the family. We are all trying to be very supportive of her.

I used the ground turkey previously frozen stuff that you get in the meat case right next to the ground beef. And I used regular ground turkey, not turkey breast, because it was on sale. And it came out yummy.
