So...I'm the only one
So, looks like I am the only one that decided to eat Thanksgiving without sticking to plan. Yeah, I am up some pounds, but I did have what I wanted. Guess I am not strong like all of you. Maybe never will.
|
Hey hereIcome,
Don't beat yourself up about it, honestly! Move ahead, put the past behind you and look forward. I too, ate what I wanted and I'm up 2lbs...I'm not going to fret about it, I'm just going to jump back on plan today (I do weight watchers, or at least I did...I've had a rough month) I'm hoping to do good on the "normal" days and enjoy my holiday functions and if I maintain, then thats an accomplishment in itself...Remember, the average american gains 10lbs over the holidays....maintaining is like losing 10lbs!!! That's huge! I don't know LAWL's plan, but I'm assuming you drink alot of water, so push the water big time and exercise, exercise, exercise! You'll get there, don't be down on yourself...it's a long journey, we'll succeed :) |
no i ate what i wanted too but i did make it a one meal only day and drank alot of water!
|
I don't do LAWL but I promise you there are lots of LAWL users out there who ate everything they wanted on Thanksgiving.
I normally count calories but not on Thanksgiving ;) Don't beat yourself up, one day of eating off plan is not the end of the world. Thanksgiving is over now, it's only ONE DAY, forgive yourself and get back on track. |
Yep, I ate what I wanted then started Phase 1 of South Beach on Friday... my plan for getting through the holidays
|
On the biggest losers some of the highest weight LOSSES have been after a GAIN! This is a great oppertunity for you to have a big loss. You are doing great! Stck with it!
If I had not cut my finger and ended up in the ER for stitches, I may have eaten more myself! How's that for a diet plan? Crazy, but true. |
Hereicome - You are NOT the only one! I enjoyed myself a LOT. I probably overdid it on the wine this time since I haven't had any in so long. Even extended the day to the day after since I make a leftover casserole that is almost better than the meal. Anyhoo... I was up 5lbs. yesterday (Saturday) morning, but am on day 2 of TO. I was down 3lbs exactly this morning.
You enjoyed, you decided it was worth it, now get back on the saddle until Christmas. Parties will be hard, but plan, plan, plan and you will do great! |
I am with Cassie!!! I enjoyed the holidays and more than my 3 oz of wine!!! Anyway, TO works and it can get you back on track.
|
ok I am chiming in ....I did great on turkey day.....but had three glasses of wine on Fri.......hee hee...we will see how WI goes tomorrow..nance
|
I went over the alloted food for the day but I planned it. I practived portion control and I wrote it ALL down. I figured it was one day and I got back on the saddle the next day. Dont beat yourself up for it. You did it, had a good time and now you have the tools to move on and get back on track. Have a great day!

Count me as one of the Non-plan Turkeys. I was up 4lbs on Friday and still have about .6 to get back to ticker. I am done beating myself up about it, its over. Now is the time to deal with reality.
You are not alone! However, you are very brave to put this post out there thinking that you were the only one! |
Hereicome--ditto to Kim. You are NOT ALONE!!! I am sure many more of us were off than care to admit. Everyone knows I am a cheater--lol. I was up yesterday then back to a .2 gain this AM. Considering all I ate and drank I am actually feeling pretty good about it. I commend those strong enough to stick to plan during the Holidays. I am not one of them and I am fine with it. Started back to OP eating yesterday and that's all I can do. Hang with us--you have many in the boat with you.
|
I suck too Kim and Hereicome. Oh well.......it's a brand new day :)
|
I wish I got to sit down to a home cooked thanksgiving meal LOL I don't cook for holidays anymore.. it is just DH and I and it is just too much hassle for just the two of us.
|
Girl you are not the only one I had a bad week not just a bad day and today at COD I was up like 6 lbs its just down to buis now I will be hitting the gym hard this week and lots of lemon water LOL
|
You have made me feel s much better. When I read some of the posts just after the Holiday, there wasn't any about not sticking OP. I felt I had learned nothing the last few months and the almost 30 pounds were going to return in a weak moment. I almost stopped coming to the forum. Isn't this SICK! There has been lots of talk about what this program costs, but this actually helps me stick to it or least return to it when I have strayed. When I tried WW, it seemed I could not stay on track because 2 cups of pasta was still on plan. I really am grateful for this program. Irene

Candice - Next year plan an outing down to Florida. I'd be happy to cook for you!
|
Irene,
I totally agree with the ladies on this string. I ate what I wanted and enjoyed it. I also did it on Friday, and Saturday. Starting yesterday I'm POP and luckily did not gain more than 1 pound. I think it had alot to do with Portion controll. I only had small bits of my favorites, even if they werent on plan. I'm goingt ow rok out four times this week, adn hopefully will still be down on Friday. Candace |
My goodness, Candace...........I just looked at your profile picture..you are beautiful. You are really kicking butt too..............keep up the good work :) Even though you ate what you wanted, wasn't it nice to have portion control? I didn't really even feel guilty about eating off plan..........I was actually proud of myself for enjoying without over indulging on portion size. I did start to get nervous on Sunday though, as I had promised myself I would be back OP, and then at about 6:00 p.m. I caved and ate pie, and chocolate. It's all good now though. I am feeling strong and have been doing my TO yesterday and today. I'm so glad everyone is bouncing back after the holiday!!! I look forward to reading everyone's posts, and if they are missing........well, it just isn't the same :)

Actually being able to handle portion control was great. Something that I couldn't do a year ago. It makes me feel like I might be able to handle maintenance when I get there.
Nicole, I'm with you on the back on plan thing. I was going to plan my casserole on Saturday and ended up having it for lunch and then having sushi later that night. TO put me right back on the wagon. But even with the extras, I still felt amazingly in contol. Not like I had to grab as much as I could stuff in of everything because it wouldn't be there tomorrow. Didn't get that "unfomfortable" feeling of being overstuffed. |
Cassi--you guys really hit the nail on the head with portion control. I also decided to eat a little of whatever I wanted so I wouldn't feel deprived and it worked great. Though I admit I ate more dressing and divinity than necessary--they are my favorites of everything my Mom makes and I only eat hers. She only makes divinity when her older brother visits which is very rarely so I knew the chance would not come again for years! I think the greatest feeling this Thanksgiving--and one I could never say before--is that I was not the least bit miserable physically (or emotionally--ie: guilt) after the main meal. That in itself is a NSV for us all!
Cassi--you are so close! I can't wait to do the dance of joy with you in 3 pounds!! Right now I would take them from you if I could!! |
