Does anyone here do Tae Bo?
Morning!
I ordered a few Tae Bo DVD's on Amazon today and was wondering if anyone does it here? I saw this website and was really insipred by it, http://www.fitbyfaith.net/ Someone on another board I am on posted it. I do pilates right now and thought I would try something different. If you do this does it help you lose more weight? I lose on average 2.5 pound a week. Thanks! |
I did Tae Bo quite a while ago (like 6 years ago). It is a lot of fun. It is hard, but fun. I thought it was a great aerobic work out. I think when you are working out, it is best to pay attention to your inches vs. your pounds. Muscle weighs more than fat. Need I say more. Have fun kick boxing :)

I have coupled TaeBo total body fat blaster (with the resistance bands) and portion control and i have lost 38 lbs since august 6. I love the workout its hard and the bands make it challenging but i am seeing the results i have lost 3 inches of my thighs and my arms are really toning up to. I love it

I have actually been kickboxing 2 days a week for over a month now..and my arms are getting really tight and I'm not even lifting weights. Kickboxing kicks yoru A** but it is sooo worth it:carrot:

I canceled my amazon order and ordered from his site and got this package, http://www.billyblanks.com/product_flash.asp

Thanks for responding! I figured it would be hard.. Pilates was hard when I first started it and I was sooo sore the first time I did it LOL. This will probably be the same way.
I read on his site that with this new one that I ordered that with 15 test people that they lost 145 pounds in a week total for all of them the first week of using. And 122 inches. That is why I went back and ordered this new package. |
I do kickboxing at a local martial arts studio, where we are taught by the black belts there. They:kickbutt: . I have been doing it since January, and I have really toned up my legs and stomach.

You know, this arrived about a week and a half ago but I am afraid to do it because my arthritis is so bad in the winter. I have been in a lot of pain since it got cold up here.. so I don't think this tae bo will be good for me right now. I have not been working out at all lately since it got cold but dh said that my mat pilates will be good for me. I think i will start doing that again.

Candice - do you have RA? I'm pretty up on it since my mom has it and I keep having my doctor test me for the possibility that I will get it. Pilates will be great for you either way. I have done Tae Bo, and you could easily modify the moves to lessen any impact on your joints, but I would at least get some flexibility back through the pilates first.
Hey - congrats on onederland! You've been silently kicking butt! |
Thank you! I know I don't post too much! I read the friends thread sometimes but can't keep up with it there is just too much going on there LOL I never posted in there because it is so hard to read all of it and then respond to everyone LOL
I have OA, but it is getting worse and worse. especially my hands. I can hardly drain the veggies at night and this morning I was having trouble opening one of those little pre-packaged applesauce cups. My dr only has me on Naproxen. I went back to tell him it is only getting worse and he tells me to get into a sauna :( He is not helping much at all. My friend with RA told me I have to be on a medication for diesese modifying. I will just have to go back again and tell him it just keeps getting worse and worse. |
And yet another great picture!
The RA drugs are pretty amazing, but they come with some potentially serious side effects - (i.e. - serious liver damage) so it really is a last resort, usually. A spa hot tub truly does wonders, but it's no tlike you can go buy them at the supermarket! For hands, a cheap alternative to heat therapy could be one of those paraffin wax dips - I have one and the heat really penetrates (feels good!) I'm sure the cold winters do not help your joints. Hopefully the Dr. can get you on something to help. |
