Sugar Free Crockpot Apple Butter

  • Fill crockpot 2/3 full with sliced/cored apples (I do not peel mine because of the vitamins) I use several types of apples - Granny Smith, Yellow Delicious, and any type of cooking apples.
    Add:
    3C splenda
    4 tsp cinnamon
    2 tsp allspice
    1/4 tsp nutmeg
    1/4 tsp ground cloves
    1/4 tsp Mortons Lite salt

Fill crockpot heaping full and add 1 more cup splenda
Start on high for a little while and then turn to low for 7-9 hours.
Put in blender or food processor until smooth. Can it in a water bath or put in containers and give to family and neighbors. (This is a great Christmas gift with a loaf of homemade bread!)

I usually use 1T in the morning on wheat eng. muffin and I count it as a condiment.
  • Sounds great and I have loads of apples. How big is your crockpot?
  • Ruth - I've used this for both a 2 qt., 3 qt., and I've multiplied it and used in it my Nesco which is 18 qt! I don't really worry too much about the seasonings or the splenda since I can't control how sweet the apples are anyway. By the time it cooks down and you process it - it's delicious and I've never had a batch that wasn't because this recipe is great!
Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
    Blessings,
  • That sounds delicious!! I bet it smells awesome cooking too! I'm printing this out one for later.
