ToM / Birth Control Question
I just switched from Depo-provera to the pill because of all the research showing how bad Depo is for bone density. (Also they say Depo makes you gain weight - and I did gain on Depo, but a lot of other stuff was going on, too!) I'm going to have my first ToM in four YEARS in about a week and a half, so I have a couple of questions!
1) Has anybody else noticed a big weight / diet effect with either coming off Depo or going on the pill? 2) I know people say their weight fluctuations are different around ToM - different how? Am I supposed to gain before & lose after, or??? I'm just trying to figure out what to expect! Thanks, all! |
I usually gain a bit of water weight the week before, so I try to be really careful with my eating that week. During the week of TOM, I almost always lose any previous gain plus another pound. Weird, but it makes me look forward to TOM!!!! It is sometimes the only time I lose!

I have a similar experience. My weight loss stalls in the weeks leading up to my TOM and then I lose weight during my TOM. Sometimes I lose several pounds and then gain a pound or so back the following week. In the last few months, the only week that I've lost weight has been my TOM. I was on the pill up until a couple of months ago and then switched to Nuvaring. I haven't really noticed much of a difference on Nuvaring.

Well, I started this morning (my off-week from the pills doesn't start until Sunday - should I be starting already?) and WHAM! was down over a pound since yesterday. If this continues, I could learn to like having my ToM again!
