I have been losing at a snail's pace. Ladies..I am so frustrated, unhappy, and generally just ready to throw in the towel. I have even tried the 21 day boost to no avail. I'm working out with no weights 5x or more a week. My last hope is supplements---is it worth it?
I dont know about suppliments but 18 pounds in just over 2 months, doesnt sound like a snails pace to me. Especially with you not starting off very heavy. Sounds like you might just be at a regular stall. I know it is frustrating though...BELIEVE me, i want to see some progress too. I would LOVE to lose 3 or 4 pounds a week, but unfortunately it is half a pound here, 2 pounds there, back down to half a pound...just try to remember, it took a while to put those pounds on, so it takes a while to get them off too.
I have an August 1st start date and only 10 lbs gone - 6.5 inches.
I'm slow but the important thing is I am losing slowly - I am 10 lbs less than 10 weeks ago. I have more energy, my clothes are looser, I have a new pair of size 14 jeans. I am making better choices and I am actively doing something to better myself.
Slow and steady wins the race.
I personally think you are doing well. Perhaps you haven't had that high of a loss lately as your body is adjusting to its new self. I wouldn't get too excited yet. What is your COD saying?
COD is suggesting supplements. I have even gotten 1/2 through 21 day boost with subbing Slim Downs. I wouldn't be so concerned, except I'm getting married in June--and only have until that time to get down to 124
Buffy - what plan are you on? are you doing lites? what is your total minutes of true exercise - ie not time at gym but time at gym that you are working out?
Try 1/2 a protein at breakfast and 1/2 protein at lunch - that might help speed up your metabolism when you first get up. It helps me. Limit sodium and drink about 3-4 L of water a day as your muscles need it to prevent the retention. Are you hungry at all? Are you doing the lites or a bar supplement?
Buffy-
Look at what you have lost. 18 lbs. in 2 1/2 months. You are right on track. You are not going to lose 2 lbs. every week, believe me, I know! I stalled out for 5 weeks and didn't lose an oz. There are other chicks on here that have been stalled for months. You can't force your body to do what it doesn't want to do and stay healthy. I know I am going to sound like I am playing the devil's advocate here, and if I offend you, I apologize in advance. Why are you insisting on being at 124 lbs. when you get married? It's just a number you know. You could hit 124 for your wedding day and be a sickly unhealthy looking bride or you could quit worrying about the number and focus on being the healthiest, best toned bride that you can be. I have been reading your posts and if you continue to worry about getting to 124 you are going to drive yourself insane!!!!
I went to school with a girl that was a couple of inches taller than me and was quite a bit thinner than I was. I weighed about 175 at the time and was chunky. She weighed 195 but was very athletic and toned and she looked awesome!! Nobody could believe that she weighed what she did.
Why don't you put that scale away and don't look when you go the COD to weigh in and tell them not to tell you where you are at and have them measure you every two weeks. Judge your losses by your body and NOT by the scale. I think it would save your sanity and a lot of stress. Did you know that added stress will make you not lose weight????
I don't think you have gained your extra weight in just 9 months, do beat yourself up if you don't lose it in 9 months. This is a lifestyle NOT a DIEt, so make it the best lifestyle you can and I think you will be much happier and healthier in the end.
Again, I apologize if I have offended you, I meant what I have said with the best of intentions.
Thanks, MT Debster. I think my biggest obstacle is myself sometimes. In some ways, most of this weight did just creep on suddenly. But, I try to remind myself..I graduated at 184 I don't take offense to anything that you've said. You're speaking from experience and with a genuine intent to help-thank you again THanks to all who have responded..I'm actually down .8 since yesterday, so switching some stuff around has actually helped
I really get remotivated when I read from you chickies that have lost so much. When I see 50lbs, 75 lbs, at first I think I am the only one that does 1 pound at a time.Hearing about your weight lose journey is so valuable to me.
