  • Hi all,

I have seen a lot of postings about how people are doing the LAWL TakeOFF. I received a one page print out from a LAWL center that describes the best way to do a 2 day take off and thought I would share here. It's not in their program books.

The Best Way to do a 2 Day Take Off!

    Breakfast:
    ½ LA Lite Bar
2 oz. Take Off Juice mixed w/2 oz. Water

    Midmorning:
2 oz. Take Off Juice mixed w/2 oz. Water

    Morning snack:
    ½ LA Lite Bar
2 oz. Take Off Juice mixed w/2 oz. Water

    Lunch:
3 oz. cooked, lean protein (must be same as dinner protein) or ¾ cup Egg Beaters
    1 vegetable
2 oz. Take Off Juice mixed w/2 oz. Water

    Midafternoon:
2 oz. Take Off Juice mixed w/2 oz. Water

    Afternoon snack:
    ½ LA Lite Bar
2 oz. Take Off Juice mixed w/2 oz. Water

    Dinner:
3 oz. cooked, lean protein (must be same as lunch protein) or ¾ cup Egg Beaters
    1 vegetable
2 oz. Take Off Juice mixed w/2 oz. Water

    Evening snack:

2 oz. Take Off Juice mixed w/2 oz. Water

    Important Notes:
    Continue to take all supplements.
Vegetable choices should be fresh or frozen green vegetables – 1 cup raw or ½ cup cooked.
Drink 6 to 8 (8 oz.) glasses of water each day.
Morton Lite Salt (1/2 to ¾ tsp) per day for potassium - required.
No more than 2 regular cups of coffee (6 oz) while on TakeOFF.

Hope this helps! See my next post with substitutions for LAWL TakeOFF juice and LA Lite Bars.

  • Hi again,

As promised, here are some alternatives to the expensive LAWL products. I am still exploring and hoping to get some good input on this!

    TakeOFF juice:
Knudsen's Simply Nutritious Morning Blend juice - http://knudsens.ddcg.com/products/nu...id=11&catid=57
I believe that the Knudsen's juice has roughly the same nutrional value as the LAWL juice, but I have seen people diluting with less water and adding fiber sure as Fibersure.

    LA Lite Bars:
    LUNA bars - http://www.lunabar.com/products/flavor_book.cfm
I believe that 1 LUNA bar has the same nutrional value of 1 LA Lite bar.

These products are available at Whole Foods and places like that.

I'd be interested to see what other substitutions people are using. I've also heard about people substituting fresh fruit such as cantalope or oranges for the juice.

  • Knudsen's recipe vs. LAWL juice nutrition info
Does anyone have a nutrition label from the LAWL juice they'd be willing to share? Below is from the Knudsen's Simply Nutritious Morning Blend juice. I'd like to compare and devise the best recipe to match the LAWL juice.

Knudsen's Simply Nutritious Morning Blend juice:
    Nutrition Facts
Serving Size 8 FL. OZ. (240 mL)
    Calories 130
    **Fat Cal. 0

    Amount/Serving
    Total Fat 0g
    **Saturated Fat 0g
    Cholesterol 0mg
    Sodium 25mg
    Potassium 320mg
    Total Carbohydrate 30g
    **Dietary Fiber 0g
    **Sugars 28g
    Protein 1g

My current recipe to recreate LAWL juice (from another member in another thread):
25 oz. Knudsen's Simply Nutritious Morning Blend juice
    7 oz. water
4 heaping tsp. Fiber-sure (adds about 5g fiber per 8 oz. of juice)

This makes 32 oz. of juice which is enough for one day of TakeOFF. You need to double this to make enough for a 2 day TakeOFF.

The nutrition info for this recipe ends up very close to this: I'd really like to see how close this is to the LAWL juice nutrition info.

    Knudsen's/Fiber-sure juice recipe:
    Nutrition Facts
Serving Size 8 FL. OZ. (240 mL)
    Calories 127
    Fat Cal. 0

    Amount/Serving
    Total Fat 0g
    Saturated Fat 0g
    Cholesterol 0mg
    Sodium 20mg
    Potassium 250mg
    Total Carbohydrate 29g
    Dietary Fiber 5g
    Sugars 22g
    Protein 1g
  • LUNA bar vs. LA Lite bar nutrition info
Yet another posting - sorry! I am hoping this will create a helpful reference for those searching through the forums in the future. It's also helping me to understand good alternatives to LAWL products

LUNA bar nutrition info (for carmel nut brownie flavor):
    Nutrition Facts
    Serving Size 1 bar (48g)
    Calories 190
    Fat Cal. 50

    Sugars 11g
    Other Carbs. 12g
    Protein 9g

LA Lite bar nutrition info (for chocolate chip cookie dough flavor):
    Nutrition Facts
    Serving Size 1 bar (47g)

    Fat Cal. 40

    Amount/Serving
    Total Fat 4.5g
    Saturated Fat 2.5g

What pops out at a high level is that LA Lites don't have fiber like the LUNA bars do. So I'm thinking I may not put as much fiber in the Knudsen's juice recipe that I posted above. I'm afraid too much fiber will cause some issues with my system

    Any thoughts?

  • I think I am going to do this version Tues and Weds. I like the layout--any layout is nice--I am a creature of habit. Wish I could have my V-8 for my veggie but will stick to green beans and chicken. Maybe this is just what I need to get back in control. Today has been good--OP so far.

    LAWL--Take Off Juice
    4oz. juice + 4oz. water=serving
    Calories--100
    Fat--0
    Sodium--10
    Carbs--23
    Sugars--22
    Protein--0

I hate that the sugars and carbs are so dang high! But I had a bottle left over from this summer when I did it with my sister.

I have to fast tomorrow until bloodwork (it's early) so I will have my lite on the way home, then my juice when I get home, then get on the schedule for the rest of the day.
  • can someone tell me how much this LA TO juice is in Canada?

    Thanks
  • Boo'sMom -

Good luck on your TO - I'm doing mine today and tomorrow so I'll keep you posted. I've lost 4 pounds doing this in the past so keeping my fingers crossed that I'll do the same this time.

And thanks so much for posting the LAWL juice nutrition info! Is there really no fiber in it? To me it looks almost the same as the Knudsen's recipe I posted except that the recipe is higher cal/higher carb because I added Fiber-sure. I think I am going to omit the Fiber-sure since the LUNA bars have fiber in them - about 4 grams.

Knudsen's juice recipe (no added fiber - very close to LAWL juice):
25 oz. Knudsen's Simply Nutritious Morning Blend juice
    7 oz. water

This makes 32 oz. of juice which is enough for one day of TakeOFF. You need to double this to make enough for a 2 day TakeOFF.

    Nutrition Facts for above recipe:
Serving Size 8 FL. OZ. (240 mL)
    Calories 101
    Fat Cal. 0

    Amount/Serving
    Total Fat 0g
    Saturated Fat 0g
    Cholesterol 0mg
    Sodium 20mg
    Potassium 250mg
    Total Carbohydrate 23g
    Dietary Fiber 0g
    Sugars 22g
    Protein less than 1g
  • Marsha--I checked again and there's none listed. I've done both ways and will do the Knudsen's if/when I do it again. I don't usually lose but I need to get my eating back in check. I'm going to do it with eggbeaters tomorrow and grilled chicken on weds. GOOD LUCK!!! Keep me posted on your successes.
  • Guys- are you sure it is only 6 oz. of protein for the whole day? I have always done it with 12 oz, 6 at lunch 6 at dinner- that is what i am doing yesterday and today. There is no way I could last on 6 oz for the whole day- I am dying with 12 as it is.
  • Sorry Lisa--everything I have says 6 oz.
  • Yep, my plan definitely says 6 oz. for the whole day. The suggested program they gave me shows splitting up 3 oz. for lunch and 3 oz. for dinner. But I know that there are different color plans - I suppose it could differ from what I have.

I made it through day 1! One more day to go. I did broiled beef tenderloin with pepper rub and zucchini stir-fried with a little garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil. I made enough for 4 portions so I am set for tomorrow as well. You'd think I'd get sick of the same thing for each meal, but I really like what I made so I don't mind
  • Marsha - How did your TO go?
  • Hi LittleBlueCat - So far I am down 3.2 pounds! I know a lot of it is probably water weight, but it's so good to see the scale move!! I'll weigh myself again in the morning. If I stick to TO, I can usually lose about 4 pounds.

Thanks for asking! Are you doing TO?
  • Marsha - No, not at this time. I'm following what my COD has been telling me what to do. I'm currently on the Gold Plan. And haven't hit any plateau yet. But I'm taking notes, just in case I'll need it someday. Good job in sticking to your plan!! And losing 3.2 already!
  • Woo hoo! I am down 3.8 on the TO plan - I used Knudsen's juice + Fiber-sure and the LA Lite bars that I still have. Now I just have to stick to plan to keep going down!

Nancy - Glad to hear you haven't hit any plateaus. I feel like I just can't stick to plan long enough to really make a difference. I do well for a while and then completely blow it for a day or 2 and end up right back where I started. Frustrating! Here's to making a dent this week
