If you eat anywhere besides what is listed, you need to be aware that there is probably hidden salt and fat. That being said, you need to decide what to eat to fit it into your plan using the alloted number of exchanges. We don't use "Points", so that doesn't correspond to our program.
Okay I was thinking points as in how many proteins and so on. and I was wondering if people had found other places to eat besides on that list. But thanks for your input.
booger....I would like to think we can eat anywhere...Just nned to be strong and ask lots of questions...No fat...no butter..steamed vegies...etc..and lots of lemon for the water...good luck..nance
Booger - Oh, I misunderstood. One of the other things you can do is look at your restaurant guide and then get something similar somewhere else. Almost everywhere has a chicken caesar salad. You can find grilled fish, chicken, etc. I guess you just kinda eyeball the portion sizes and like Kristi and Nance said, be very specific about asking if they cook it in butter, and asking them to serve sauces on the side, etc.
I just get simple things at restraunts that I can work into my plan. Mostly salads with chicken, then I use the dressing as my Fat selection for the day. I am a real big fan of Chipolte- a Mexican restraunt where the make the food at the counter and you say what you want in it. I have been getting the chicken salad there at least once a week since I started the program and it gets rid of that craving for eating out, but I am in control of what is in it.
