Hot "wings" - NOT!

I make these for my "men" here at home for race day and game day.

Ingredients:
Chicken breast tenders
Hot sauce of your choice (Our favorite is Chalulah (sp?) with the wooden top on it)
ICBINB spray
FF or LF Blue cheese dressing

Using a fork, pierce all tenders several times and place into a zip lock bag.
Pour hot sauce over, "massage", and let marinade overnight.

Bake on a wire rack or crumpled foil on a sheet pan. 400 F until done.

Spray with margarine spray and broil until brown.

Serve with LF or FF blue cheese dressing and celery sticks.

OMG my daughter would love those! She loves hot wings.

Kristi - You cracked me up! :lol3: I'm really glad you enjoyed them. My "boys" think I'm the coolest when I make them here too!

Prazteam,

I'm trying this tonight. No chicken tenders at the store, so I'll have to cut up chicken breast. Thanks for posting the name of the hot sauce -- I actually FOUND it (lowest sodium of the bunch -- I'll bet that's partly why you use it, too!)

Do you think it would be ok to use PAM? Or should I buy the margarine spray?

bizlawchik 09-28-2006 08:41 AM

You could use Pam, but the butter spray adds a lot of flavor to the wings and helps it brown. In this case it's not used to help something not stick.

hourglass - Actually, we started using this at IHOP years ago and fell in love with it so I actually order it off the 'net 4-1/2 gal jugs at a time. (It lasts about a year for us, but it's SOOO much cheaper that way)

WhitWhit - Like Cassi said, the spray marg. is for flavor and browning. Original "hot wings" are made with hot sauce and BUTTER melted together and the wings after being deep fried are dipped in the sauce. I just revised the recipe to be healthier.

Hope you all like 'em! I think I'm making them Sunday for Nascar time!
Blessings,

OK. I decided to marinate the chicken last night so they be ready to bake when I get home from work tonight. So I thought, maybe I should put my scales to good use, and actually opened my purple book to see if it is indeed 6 oz of chicken-- and, oooops.... it said 8 oz of raw chicken!! To think that I could had 8 oz of chicken all these weeks!! :cbg: I feel like I've been shorted, and maybe I should eat double, just to catch up... just kidding. So I dunked the chicken into a ziplock bag after stabbing it to death, and drizzled what I thought a spoonful of hot sauce on them, and "gently" massaged them, before throwing the bag into the fridge. I am all excited to think I get extra 2 oz of chicken tonight!!

Nancy - your post made my day! I'm sitting here chuckeling as I type this. Thanks for making the effort of posting a recipe worth it! I can't wait to hear how you do with 8 oz!
(I'm still giggling!)

It was goooood! And when I got full, I still had 2 stripes of chicken left, bout 2 oz worth, I bet. My son volunteered to finish it off for me, I couldn't say no when he seems to liked as much as I did. So, I ended up eating my usual 6oz of chicken. Oh well. Not complaining, at WI tonight lost another pound something! You girls have some of the best recipes! Thanks!
