Carb Enders Question

I know that Carb Enders are a bean extract - but can anyone tell me the NAME of the product as it is called at Walmart? I read somewhere that somebody uses it from Walmart but they didn't say the name. The Pharmacist was no help! Thanks, we want to try these while on vacation... Need I say more? :beach: 4 days!

Pearl - I think Lori gets them from Vitamin World for very cheap. All they are is white bean extract. The LAWL brand has 1000mg/2 caplets, so if you find any brand that has that, you're good.

carb enders

Pearl,

I saw this on another message board that I visit. Someone there said they are called Natrol Carb Intercept and they are around $6.00.

Hope this helps.

Wow! $6 is WAY better than the $20 the COD charges.

Lolene - Are they at Walmart or Vitamin World?

Lolene 09-13-2006 02:27 PM

She said it was at Walmart.

just googled white bean extract and got this:

White kidney bean extract may block the action of the digestive enzyme alpha-amalyase, and this prevents the breakdown of starch into dextrin and ultimately glucose. Essentially, white kidney bean extract will result in some ingested starches passing through your system undigested.

The resulting effect may be lower energy intake and ultimately lower rates of body fat storage.

Main Function:

Helps with weight control by 'blocking' carbohydrate absorption.

Sounds good--if it's true--any thoughts??

Vitamin world used to carry the carb intercept for about $3 a bottle, but mine doesn't have them anymore... they are at my walmart for about $6.

Boo-as I've said before-in theory, it's a great concept. But no ones actually created a carb blocker that works in a clinical setting, besides the placebo effect.

Believe me-when someone creates one that works-we'll hear about it.

Well, personally, after last week's splurge AND weight loss, I have to attribute some of this to the Carb Enders I took (yes, the $20 from the center cause I was a fool not to go elsewhere). I don't believe all the clinical trial stuff anyway cause if I did I'd be afraid to walk out my front door. Pearl, I say go find them and try it out for yourself. Remember though not to over do it. The big thing with me limiting my use of Carb Enders is that I hate to give up my protein servings and your starchy meal now becomes a protein. Oh, who am I kidding? I'd give up a protein for a starch any day!

juliemarie 09-13-2006 03:22 PM

hey-it's your money . . .

And I do believe clinical trials when they say something doesn't work. They want to make money after all. But stuff you get at the health food stores is not monitored at all. They can pretty much make up whatever claims they want to. And LAWL is no stranger to doing that . . .

And some folks may see a benefit-again, it's likely due to the placebo effect.

Carb enders

I'm fairly new, so I don't quite understand what the Carb enders are used for. Is it so you can eat a bigger portion and not have to count it?

juliemarie 09-13-2006 03:26 PM

Carb enders is just the LAWL name for their version of white bean extract.

They told me to use Carb Enders when you choose a carb craver meal and drink more water, so I guess that, yes, it would "allow" you to eat more starch, in theory. I chose not to buy it and purchased the Natrol product for much less. Of course, I always forget to take the pills. While I can't say that they work, I can definately tell you that they do not work if they sit in the bottle! :o

Well thanks everyone! I got the Natrol at Walmart last night and we're going to try it while on vacation (just in case we're doing carbs!)
Blessings,
