are you red with lites? I dont use lites...I have a "real red" book:) I use fitday to track the food and it always comes up under 1300
|
I dunno what to tell you, Ive been tracking on fitday for over a month, the numbers dont lie...

Red with lites
I use the lites on my plan. But still the food amounts are huge. 2.5P, 4V, 3F, 3S, 1D, 1Fa, plus 3 condiments and the lites. I feel like I'm eating all the time!
|
yes, its a ton of food, good pure food- and no lites for me...the numbers ive tracked are not wrong, the calorie level is still low for my level of activity was the only point mentioned.
|
Red is more than 1200. Maybe ask about stepping up to Red 1... As for students, some students have long hours and sparatic class schedules. I myself am still in University. Believe me I put in long hours. Of course not over the summer though :)

Well--I can only speak for myself but I like my center and I like the program. I've no doubt I've complained about one or the other at frustrating times but because of the success I've experienced I still believe in them both. We've all discussed the fact that the counselors are not nutritionist or dieticians (for the most part--we have one) so the beauty of this site is we can gain extra education through the advice of others. The more we learn here the more prepared we are when we need to ask questions at the center.

Strange, Ive been on this site for almost a year and never bashed the programa nd obviously it was extrememly successful, not perfect though and THAT is the point.

Everyione-please try to remain polite and civil. :) Thank you. ;)
I would like to add, that with a food exchange plan, that there can perfectly well be a difference in the calories consumed each day-depending on the individual food choices. For starters-if whatever plan you are on allows for 2 fruits a day-then one person may have two small apples (at 80 calories each, equalling 160 calories...) and the next person may have 2 cups of strawberries for their fruits (at 45 calories per cup...equaling 90 calories total for their 2 fruits. That is a 70 calorie difference right there, and that is just in the fruit category. For the same two people, let's say they are allowed two servings of dairy. One person may be choosing two servings of yogurt-and the particular brand they choose may be 100 calories per serving, and the next person may choose a different brand that is 80 per serving. There is another 40 calorie difference each day. These two "made up people" have a calorie difference in their diet now of 110 calories, and this is only using their dairy and fruit...if these two people continue to be on the same color plan, but one person is eating the "higher calorie" food exchanges, and the other person on the lower end...then it is VERY possible that by the end of the day, with their proteins, starches, and veggies-that there could be a few hundred calories difference-without EITHER of them being wrong. Just my opinion.... Aphil |

Deets- I can totally understand your frustration and not wanting anymore "advice" on what you should be doing;) I've read your posts on this board for so long and we have all given you advice and the COD has given you advice-all of it conflicting, of course! Anyway-I'm glad you are happy with what you're doing now-you're at a enviable size and obviously getting into great shape! Congrats!
BTW-I also use fitday (love it!) and am on red with lites-although many days I add in some exchanges because my exercise level is so high right now. So I sometimes add a dairy and maybe a fruit. Occaisonally an extra starch. So-I end up somewhere between red and red 1. And-my average calorie intake is around 1600-if you took out the lites it would be 1260. So-you're right-the numbers don't lie! While I think most of us go through periods of being extremely disgusted with our respected CODs and the corporation as a whole-I think most of us would still recommend the program to others. It's the most balanced diet I've ever been on-and I know my body and my lifestyle and how I need to adjust the program to fit it. Cuz I don't care what the manager of my COD says-distance walking is exercise;) I'd like to see her walk 16 miles and tell me again it's doesn't count toward the 5 hours required to move up a plan;) |
