Jibbelle, you do deserve a pat on the back! Thanks for the support to both you and Sue! I can do this and I will. I agree that I do better when I write down everything! And it is a great idea to plan the night before that I way I dont have to think about it the next day! I think that I got bored b/c I was eating some of the same things everyday..how about we start posting our menus for the day....maybe that would help me get some other ideas! Would you recommend both the Tri Max and the FB 500? How much do they cost? Well so far I have had an awesome day! I had an apple for breakfast and a diet Mt. Dew, a Healthy Choice Cheese Pizza and a salad for lunch with 32 oz of water, and my lite for a desert. I know that I am gonna stay on track this time! Thanks again for all of the support. I think this board is so important for support and any questions we might have..so thank you!

Marcie W-
I think the supplements are the reason I am losing 5 lbs a week. I have no idea how much they are because I paid for them with my program costs and nu lights. You should ask next time you go in. I really do think they are helping me Below is todays menu for me. It is a fairly typical menu except for breakfast. During the work week I usually have a LA DeLight or Cereal Bar for the starch and fruit in the morning. I rarely eat the 1/2 protein I am supposed to have in the morning...bad MarcieB! Breakfast scrambled egg, toast, cantaloupe wedge Midmorning snack nulight (honey nougat) Lunch turkey, bread (little bit of light miracle whip), lettuce salad with fat free dressing, cantaloupe Mid afternoon snack nulight (double chocolate) Dinner Oven Fried Chicken (per Karen's recipe), sauteed zuchinni and mushrooms (in a little pam) Dessert peach (normally I have a peach and fat free vanilla yogurt for dessert, but I used my dairy in the oven fried chicken today) This menu gets all of the required foods for one day on the Red Plan. I am never hungry and I eat several times a day! |
What does the red plan get that the purple doesn't? I can't remember and can't find my red card that I got.
|
Thanks MarcieB!! I will look into the suppliments. I am gonna go and weigh in tomorrow. You are right about getting back in there and weighing. That is a vital part of the program!
Springmanor, I am not sure about the red or purple plan..I am on the gold, but I would like to know the differences of all of them. |
I have the purple plan. If you want I can try and scan it and send it to you. I used to be on the red plan and did really well. My downfalls came when they switched me to the purple and then the gold. I would like to get the red plan again and start with that. If anyone has it could you let me know what is different then what I have.
|
Red Plan
I am very curious to see what the other plans are like.
I scanned the red plan into a Microsoft Word document and I can email it to anyone who is interested. If you dont have Word and would like it in another format let me know and I will see what I can do. Anyone that wants it can send me an email at: [email protected] and I will reply to them with an attachment! |
This is what the gold plan is:
2 proteins, 2 starches, 3 fruits, 3 veggies, 1 dairy, 2 lites, and 1 fat. You can have red meat 2 times a week but not back to back days. I bet this is a lot like the others huh? There are Limited and Unlimited choices. Like potatoes, rice, etc. I eat the cherry jello for my lites b/c I dont like the bars. |
|
The red plan is 2+ proteins, 3 starches, 3 fruits, 4 veggies, 1 fat, 1 dairy and 2 la lites.
It looks like the difference between the red and gold is that red has one more starch and one more veggie. You can also have 1/2 a protein at breakfast....that is why they call it 2+. I usually dont eat protein at breakfast unless it is an egg once or twice a week. I wonder how they decide which plan you go on. I will have to ask. So some of you have switched plans? I wonder if over time they will change mine as well. Maybe they switch you if you reach a plateau where you are having trouble losing?? |
Plans
They started me on the purple plan. I believe that they place you on the plan according to the amount of weight you need to lose to make goal. I started at 233 1-2 and my LA goal is 180 (my own personal goal is 160) They told me I would have "three steps" I start on purple and then there will be two more plans that I will be on before I'm done with LA. (I forget which ones they said though) I get 2 protiens, 2 starches, 3 fruits, 2 veggies, 2 LA lites 1 fat and 1 dairy. I have the limited and unlimited choices. To tell you the truth, I get confused, and I have to look at my plan before every meal and often times consult my diary. I know they've been really great at my center with giving me advice that's not "on the plan" For example, one of my unlimited choices is turkey. Well at first I would buy deli turkey, but they said to stay away from that because deli meat is generally high in sodium. So instead I buy a turkey breast and cook it at home.
I didn't have such a great LA day today!!:s: It was my son's birthday party. I did really good about what I ATE. But I drank a lot of soda, and for the first time since I started at LA, I didn't get all my waters in. For the most part the soda was diet soda, but I'm only allowed one a day, and let's just say I surpassed that! I'm worried about my weigh in tommorow. But, there is nothing I can do about it now. I can't really beat myself up over it. I KNOW what I need to do, and that's stay on plan. It's working. But I'm still upset about it. I haven't had ONE carbonated drink since I've been on the plan...that's over five weeks now. I made up for it today!!!! UGH!!! My husband isn't on LA, but he's been working at losing weight too, and he went completley off his diet today. Before he went to bed, he said "We'll get back on track tommorow, let's not screw this up!" So I guess it's time to pick myself up by my bootstraps and do things right!!!!! Starting weight 233 1-2 Current weight 211.25 Goal: HOTTIE  |
yes, getting back on track
:)
Hello everybody. How are you? I haven't had the courage to visit this site since the Spring, but I need to get serious about losing the rest of my weight. This weekend, I was pretty bad because I used my husband's birthday as an excuse to eat eat eat. I know what you mean about diet soda- it has no calories, but really affects weight loss. I guess the sodium is the problem. Tomorrow, I need to get and to stay serious. So far I've lost 150+ pounds, but I still have about 60+ more to lose. My husband wants to lose 5-10 more. He's lost 72 pounds. He's so much better than me. He stays focused on the diet so well. The weight loss charts tell me that I should be about 119 because of my height, but of course I want to quit at 189. I still have a lot more to go and looking for an email weight loss buddy... sally... ;) ;) :dizzy: |
Hi Sally.
I will be glad to be your weightloss buddy. I have lost 93 lbs on LA but lately have been struggling also. If you want to email me you are welcome to. My email is [email protected]. I will be happy to help you and it will help me also. I had a really bad weekend also. But I am going to get myself back going, its the only thing I can do. I have a really bad headache this morning. Probably from all the junk I ate this weekend....LOL Anyway, I am going to be on program today....I have too. |
I have to weigh in today...again....usually go to the center on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Do all of you go three times a week also??? It seems a bit excessive to me, but it is what they recommend. I have vendors coming in today that I have to take out for lunch. I think I will take them to a new seafood place called R.L. Steamers. I have never been there, but I am sure they will have something off the plan to eat. Maybe salad and salmon or something.
Sasse Mom- I think we are all going to fall off the wagon on occassion. It is good that you had the diet soda and not the cake and ice cream though! You made a mistake, but I think it could have been a lot worse! Good luck getting back on track today. You can do it! Sally- Congrats of all the weight you have already lost! How long did it take you to lose 150? That is a really awesome feat! Good luck with the program and we are all here if you need anything. My email is [email protected] if you ever want to chat. Take care all! |
Hey everyone..well I made it through yesterday and did really well! I am going to go and weigh in today. My scale says 189 and theirs is usually a lot heavier than mine so it will probably say 192 or so. They are gonna get angry with me, but I need to go.
Sally, Welcome back and congrats on your weight loss! You should be so proud of yourself! If you ever want to chat let me know..my email is [email protected]. Sue-Dont worry about the diet cokes...you could have had real ones! Great job in a tough situation! Just drink more water today! Jibbelle-Let us know how well your weigh in goes! I am gonna check on the supplements today! Have a great LA Day everyone!! LOTS OF WATER!! Marcie |
Hey!
Well went and weighed in and it was what i thought...191. Up 3 pounds from the last time I was there. I am mad at myself but am ready to just get back on track! I checked on the price of the supplements and they were $79.00..youch! I dont think i can do that right now. They said they last a month! I wonder if GNC has a product like that..I bet they do for cheaper! Anyway..cant wait to hear about everyones weigh in!! marcie |
Hi Everyone!!!
Hello Everybody! I hope everyone has a GREAT on plan day. Well I went to weigh in and even with the sodas....I lost!!! I'm now down to 210 even. TEN MORE POUNDS and I will be out of the two hundreds!! Oh that is SOOOOOOO doable!!!:p
Jibbelle, I hope you had a great lunch! How'd your weigh in go? I go Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. It may seem a little excessive, however, I like it. It keeps me on track. And if you do get off track, knowing that you are going in, helps bring you back on track faster. Sally, I'm glad you are back on program!!! Your weight loss is AWESOME!! You can do it!! :^: Marcie, 192 isn't that bad...it could have been worse!! You are doing great! You are back on track and that's where you need to be. You'll do great! I do notice I difference of about five pounds between their scale and mine. Mine being five pounds lighter. Sometimes I'd really like to just go by my scale! My husband and I discussed the supplements, but we decided that they just aren't in the cards right now. We want to join a gym, and HE gets supplements from GNC, so I'm going to check them out. I would get slightly different ones then the ones he takes because I'm already on an Iron supplement (I'm anemic), so I want to check them out. We shall see. We go Friday to sign up at the gym! I'm so excited about this!!! :) I think the gym is going to be a wonderful experience for both of us. We have different goals, but I think the gym can help us both acheive them. (he wants to get "cut" I just want to LOSE!) I hope everyone is having a great day!!!!! Talk to you soon!! Starting weight 232.5 Current weight 210 Goad: HOTTIE:devil: |
Sue, before you know it you are gonna be a "hottie"!!! Way to go on your loss! Thanks also for the encouragment! I will not give up and am raring to go again! Just wanted to list my menu for the day:
1 egg 1 small apple 1 Diet Mt. Dew LA Lite Jello 1 serving 1 Healthy Choice Cheese Pizza (Can only have one more of those this week) Salad-Low Fat Dressing and low fat cheese for my dairy 1 cup of carrots 1 small apple Dinner will be grilled chicken and green beans, watermelon and jello! I have had 64 oz of water and need one more 32 oz bottle. What are y'all eating today??? |
weigh in
Well...I just weighed in and I have not lost anything since Saturday..but I have not gained either. Guess that isnt too bad. I will go back in Wednesday and see where I am. I had on jeans today, last time I had on shorts, so that may have made a difference.
MarcieW- My menu for the day so far: breakfast--cereal bar, cottage cheese, cantaloupe mid morning-- LA Light bar lunch--grilled salmon, grilled yellow squash and zuchinni, 1/2 a dinner roll (as you may have guessed, I went out for lunch) afternoon snack-LA light and cantaloupe I am on track for the day with water and supplements too. I am saving my dairy for dessert tonight...will put it in a blender with a peach and make a smoothie!! OH YUMMY! SasseMom- I can only imagine how great it will feel to be out of the two hundreds!!! The rest of us are sure to follow though. You can lead the way! |
Hi everyone
Sorry I haven't responded in a while------things have been crazy here. I had dental work done last week and it really knocked me out!!!!!! I need to have a root canal, another tooth removed and a whole bunch of other things done. I think it going to coat about $15,000!!!!! Needless to say, I am upset over that. I was so thankful to my girlfrind--she had my son stay over her souse from MOn-Friday while I worked (went to the dentist twice last week), so, at least I didn't have the stress of worrying about my son while I was at the dentist and afterwards being in pain. I decided to pamper myself on Wed (after waking up at 1PM) to get a manicure and pedicure----and of course get weighed in (they are next door to each other)------I GAINED 2 pounds--last week I had also gained 2 pounds. It is so hard to get back into the swing of things. It is NOT hard when I am ontrack----it is just getting there-and STAYING!!!!!!!!!!! I keep telling myself I will do Jetstart aging---but, when I start to think ahead to three days later---there is always something going on the 3rd day that I won't be able to do it.I think I will go full force the day after Labor Day. How aboout we all make that Challenge and see how we do---maybe make a goal for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Let me know!!!!! Well-----gotta run Glad you are all doing great!!!! Take Care Margaret |
New L A Client
 Hello!
I have joined the L A program for the very first time. I am tickled to find you ladies. I started Aug 14th. Fortunately, I got off to a good start... 249/234/232 :) I am so excited! My L A Goal is 140. My personal goal is 128, but to reach my L A Goal and maintain that weight for life will be acceptable. In the past, when I lost 20 to 30 pounds, not only did I gain back that which I had lost, but then some.... all that lost weight came back and brought even more with it... each time... more & more. I had gotten to the point that I never wanted to even hear the word diet... for fear of loosing pounds, only to put on additional pounds. But, being larger than I have ever been... I decided to give L A a try. I've got a long road ahead and it will be nice to have some friends help me make the trip. Jibbelle, I found your post on the FOOD Board last night re: L A Weight Loss Cookbook.... I have the book and posted a reply for a breakfast treat... FRENCH TOAST topped with fresh fruit. I hope that each of you ladies reach your goals, maintain your desired weights, and live healthier, happier lives! Nancy |
Nancy-
Thanks for the recipe and welcome to the program!! I just started a couple weeks before you. So far so good. Keep us posted on your progress!! Margaret- Welcome back and good luck to you too! I think that challenge is a good idea....I am trying to figure out what is a reasonable loss between now and Thanksgiving. Take care all- |
Nancy, Welcome!! It is always so exciting to get someone new and watch their success! Congrats on a great start!!
Margaret-Welcome back!! I know what you mean about getting started again after you have fallen off. I am now on day 3 of getting back on the plan and I already feel sooo much better. You can do it!!! I like the idea of a challenge...I would like to be down 25 pounds by Thanksgiving..that is my goal!! That would put me at 166. That sounds very doable!! Great Idea!! Jibbelle-Dont worry about your weigh in..thats the thing about weighing in 3 times a week..one day you may stay the same..one day you may gain..and one day you may lose. The best figure to look at is the average for the week. Like last week you were down 4.5 pounds..I mean that is really awesome!! My menu for the day so far is: 1 egg LA Lite Watermelon AND I MUST DRINK 96 OZ of WATER!!!!! Have a great day ladies!! Marcie |
Welcome Nancy,
We are all hear doing the same thing, trying to get this extra weight off. I have lost 93 lbs so far on the LA Plan. I am sort of struggling right now to get the last 30 lbs or so off but I will make it. It is a good plan but you have to stick to it. We are here to help each other so feel free to ask questions or get help. Lorrie |

Hi Everyone!!!!
Hi everyone! :dizzy:
I hope everyone has a great "on plan" day!!!! Nancy, Welcome to our little family here!!! We are the biggest bunch of "losers"!! (sorry I'm feeling corny today!!) Well since we are posting menus, here's mine for today: Breakfast: one apple Mid Morning snack: LA Lite Chocolate Shake (with my dairy) Lunch will be: 1-2 of turkey sandwhich on diet bread 1-2 small cucumber, cut in slices and dipped in vinegar. An apple or an orange Mid afternoon snack will be: LA Lite double chocolate bar I'm not sure about dinner yet though. We recieved some gift certificates to a resturaunt, and we may go there...I'm not sure. I don't really like eating out, it's so much harder to stay on plan. But since I am spending the day cleaning the house, I may just want to get out. We'll see. And most likely my evening snack will be jello. I have my weigh in tommorow again. I've done really good about staying on plan, and hubby and I have been good about our bike rides. (we do two miles after dinner every night) So I feel really good about my weigh in. OH! I almost forgot!!! :o I have a pair of size sixteen jeans, that I love, but could only wear for a short period of time. Well, I got into them yesterday for the first time in AGES! They are still snug, but if I keep going, come the end of September, I will be able to wear them comfortably!!! :^: :D YEA ME!!! Starting weight 232.5 current Weight 210 Goal: HOTTIE  |
Sue, it is great to get in those sizes we haven't been in for so long....great job. Good motivation too...LOL
Menu Breakfast: 1 poached egg on 1 slice Diet Dry Toast, coffee Mid Morning: LA Bar / Coffee Lunch: 6 oz Low Sodium Tuna w 1 tbsp. Diet Mayo 1 slice diet bread 1 small Tomato /Lettuce Salad w lite mayo 3/4 cup Pineapple Mid Afternoon: Yoplait Yogurt Lite Dinner: Baked Chicken Breast Lettuce Salad Nite Snack: LA Bar w/ can Pop (Diet) Gosh, this sounds like a lot of food too. |
on the plan
By the menus it looks as though everyone is on track today! WOOHOO for us!
SasseMom- I have weigh in tomorrow too. Since I wasnt down on Monday I am hoping to be down Wednesday. We will have to wait and see! I have not tried any of the shakes yet...do you have to put them in the blender? I hate cleaning the blender. I really like the chocolate crunch bars though...great for that sweet fix! |
shakes
Jibbelle:
You don't "have" to use your blender for your shakes. I use my dairy in mine and add some ice and use the blender, so I get more of a "shake" feeling to it. One of the counselors at my center, just mixes it with water and likes it just fine that way too. So I guess it's your personal preferences. But I think they are yummy, and I perfer them over the bars, simply because I don't like the "chewiness" of the bars. I like the taste though!!! :) Starting weight 232.5 Current weight 210 Goal HOTTIE  |
right at home
Jibbelle, Marciew, & Lorrie, & Sue,
I can't tell you how much that I appreciate the warm welcome! You are all  's! Jibbelle, I noticed that we did start about the same time and are carrying about the same load. It will be nice to travel this road together. Take care! Marciew, Montgomery, heard of Brewton? It's about 100 miles south. Nice to meet a neighbor! Lorrie, Congratulations! 93 pounds gone  bye, bye! That is so WONDERFUL! I looked for a smilie hug, but didn't see one. You deserve a big hug... hug yourself today! I hope that you continue on the road of success. And, Sue, I had typed my message... had a little trouble sending it... said that I wasn't logged in :?: I was a little flustered, but, then there was another posted message.. this one from Sue. Congratulations on fitting into those jeans! :?: Questions FREE foods... When the plan says that you can have 2 servings per day of the Free foods, does that mean that you are allowed 2 portions of each free food, or 2 selections from the list? What about cool whip, the Free green label one? Is it allowed & where does it fit in on the plan? Have any of you ladies tried: DREAMSICLE 1 sm container FREE Cool Whip 1 sm pkg sugar-free gelatin desired fruit Allow cook whip to soften, sprinkle dry gelatin over cool whip. Add fruit and fold all ingredients together. You may serve immediately, or chill in the fridge, or freeze in the freezer. We like orange gelatin & mandarin oranges (by the way, are canned fruits allowed? what about fruit juices? :?: Any flavors and fruits are adaptable. We tried lemon jello w/pineapple & strawberry jello w/ pineapple or strawberries. They are all good! But is Cool Whip allowed ? and should I try using fresh fruits? Another recipe that might fit the plan is COLA CHICKEN 4 skinless chicken breasts 1 can diet coke 1 cup ketchup You can cook this in a skillet or bake. 45 min to 1 hr. When I did the math... if you consider this to be 4 servings, the amt of ketchup exceeds that portion listed on the free foods... what if I decrease the amt of ketchup to 1/2 cup? PLEASE let me know if these recipes are doable on the plan or if they are the  in disguise? HAVE A GREAT DAY! and thank you again for such a warm welcome. Bye, bye for now. Nancy |
Nancy-
Your recipes sound great, but I am not sure about the cool whip. I know that my counselor told me to eat fresh, not canned fruit or veggies. Frozen is ok too. I think that you lose a lot of the nutrients during the canning process. I have eaten canned fruits a couple times when I am out of fresh. I think you are allowed two servings of fat free food a day...not two of each. I could be wrong though...it wouldnt be the first time! :dizzy: SasseMom- I didnt like the chewiness of the bars either...but then I discovered chocolate crunch. It is not the same consistency as the others...more like a chocolate covered brownie with crispies in it. It is really the only bar I like. I think I will get a box of shakes when I am there tomorrow. Try that for a change. I am sure I will like it if it has chocolate in it! Take care all! |
Nancy, I have heard of Brewton! How about that! From what I understand you cannot have canned fruits b/c of the sugar. I would reccommend sticking with the fresh ones only. But I could be wrong.
Sue, I know that is just a wonderful feeling!! WAY TO GO!! Before you know it those 16's will be falling off of you! WAY TO GO LADIES!! WE ARE ON TRACK! I think a bunch of us weigh in tomorrow! I do to and am praying that I will be down! I am ready to get back into the 180's! Keep up the good work everyone!! How much water have we drank so far?? 64 oz here! |
water
I am a little behind on water today....only had 1 L and one small glass (about 42 oz). SO....I have to get in gear!
Anyone else here have ICQ or AOL Instant Messenger? |
I have aol! Its listed as MarcieDavidW! Well I am getting ready to head out to an interview. It will be my second with this company and my first face to face. I put on my navy suit and it is so tight. I can't wait to put it on and it fit good like the day I bought it. Well keep your fingers crossed for me..I really want this job!!
Marcie |
MarcieW-
Good luck at your interview!!! My IM name is Jibbelle...I have added yours to my buddy list. I will look for you sometime. To All- I sent a message to Suzanne requesting a thread for us under groups and clubs. This will let us have more than one topic going at a time without getting confused. I will also allow other people to find us easier. I will let you know what she says! |
Thanks Jibbelle! I had to edit my profile... I was still having some difficulty with posting... let me see if I in & I will get right back.
|
Okie dokie... seem to have it now.
Jibbelle, Thanks for contacting Suzanne. I had visited the L A site prior to discovering this nice board. I had send them and inquiry and suggestion concerning a message board where clients could come together and support one another. I was so pleased to find your gathering place. Thank you Suzanne for having us! I just received a reply from Customer Service which said that they would pass my request along. Not sure if it will surface or get buried in the shuffle... but, the welcome mat here is nice. Thank you all! I've had 48 oz water... not too much of a problem to get mine in... especially since I told the diet coke to move over cuz water came to the rescue! :D I made it a personal goal to limit the diet cokes that I had per day... the plan said 2... I said 1. I had one can for Dinner last night. It was the first diet coke that I had had in 4 days. WOW!, it had been nothing for me to have 4 (or more) per day! I'm doing it! :o Now to just follow the plan. Marciew, I hope that your interview went well! I hope that you are so happy that you are :spin: with happiness! I wanted to say hello to all of you who I have not yet met. I wish the best for each of you! Happy plans and good health to you. Opps... almost forgot... Jibbelle, I have AOL. My email address is threemarshalls. Have a GREAT DAY! Nancy |
good day!
Hey everyone!! It sounds like everyone is having a great day!! And it does seem like a lot of us have weigh ins tommorow. I have mine! I always get nervous right before a weigh in. I guess that probably sounds silly, but I always get this feeling that the scale is going to go up instead of down!! There has been twice that HAS happened, but both times I bounced right back. I try to be careful about what I wear...I don't want the scale to go up just because I wore overalls or something!!!:s:
I can't tell you ladies how grateful I am to have found this board!! I too looked at the LA site to see if they offered one, but honestly their site doesn't really offer to much at all. (imho) It is so nice to have an online support system. Whenever I'm starting something new, I go straight for the computer and I haven't been let down yet!!! ;) By the way.....I have both MSN IM and AOL. My Aol screename is....SasseMom and my MSN is [email protected] Feel free to IM me anytime!!! :) Starting Weight 232.5 Current Weight 210 Goal: HOTTIE  |
Hi everyone, boy we are really bustling. This is so nice.
I got my water in....2 quarts I have AOL also. LorrieS840 I am going to have a diet pop tonight too. I hope we can keep this going. |
While my boyfriend was eating his Twix ice cream....I was having JELL-O.....so not fair!
Hope everyone has a great night! (and no sneaking food) ;) I am eager to see how everyone's weigh in goes tomorrow! GOOD LUCK ALL!!! |
I was wondering if anyone had heard from Marciew... regarding her interview. Hopefully she is out celebrating... while staying on the plan of course.
Have a nice night ladies! Nancy |
