Default I Want, I Want, I Want.....

Looks like I missed a good topic yesterday....
I left work a little early cause I had to go and get measured for a bridesmaid's dress (wedding in July- Weight loss goal in June) and I was measured for a size 16!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mind you, I'm only 5'1" so I was a little upset ....then I went to WI and was looking forward to it cause I did TO and I was UP 1 pound...then I was REALLY upset . So I went home and dove right into the Oreo's Well, I had such a belly ache after that, I didn't even eat dinner. I was feeling way too guilty.
With that- here are my wants:
- stop the positive/negative reinforcement of FOOD
- stop my OBSESSION with food; I watch the Food Network more than ANYTHING on TV
- chop that bridesmiad dress down to a size 10, maybe even an 8
- I want to wear my white string bikini w/ diamonds on it that I wore on my honeymoon almost 2 years and 40 pounds ago
- take my wedding ring off my finger, its totally stuck- can't get it off
- I want to NOT be the fat friend. My girls are so supportive but they have NO idea of what I go through- they don't know what it feels like to be 110 pounds let alone 170- no kidding
- I want to be healthy and be in shape
- I want to feel good about myself again

Phew- I could go on and on forever .... I'm done for now

Thanks for listening ladies- it's nice to have you chickies here that really UNDERSTAND what a struggle this is.

By the way- I'm back OP today. I gotta look good for that wedding!!!
Have a great day everyone!

Keep in mind, bridal wear is always sized larger than "normal" clothes, so dont let those measurements make you sad...youre gonna be great

Arrow WI = maintained

You girls are killing me with the dunlop/muffin top comments! That's hilarious!

I have not tried pilates eithe. Those of you who are great at the exercise and know all this stuff, I am thinking I need to stick with the walking until I take a bunch of this weight off, and then go into things like pilates for toning. But am I totally misunderstanding pilates? Is it typically recommended with someone who still has over 100 lbs to lose?

WEll, at WI today I maintained. Though the tiniest bit disappointed, I was relieved I didn't gain. I have been pretty much POP, but I know I am retaining water yesterday and today. I think I'll try to hot lemon trick Repo mentioned (THANKS!).

Also, I have breakfast and dinners down pretty well. But lunches I have not been doing a great job of packing. I have been sticking to what's OP, but I know those foods when you go out are loaded with sodium -- even if you choose the grilled chicken salad and lo fat/fat free dressings (which I do every time). So I am making it a point to pack my lunch for the rest of the week, as well as the hot lemon. And we'll see how Friday's WI goes!

Morning ladies,

Lori- That was so cute what your DS said. I woulda gave him a big hug for that one!! Ya just gotta jump back on the wagon.

Heather- Way to go on the 2 lbs. You will make, I know you will!!!

Marisa- Try not to get too obsessed with the scale. I know it's hard and I find myself crawling on it every morning. Why not make a realistic goal for the wedding and challenge yourself to make it. I have my weight loss goals and challenges posted on the fridge, along with a horrible picture of me to remind me everytime I open up the fridge. And NO WAY, NO HOW do Oreo cookies cross the threshold of this house!!! DH's favorite, he want them, he has to eat them at work or keep them in his truck!!!!!

Last night I talked to my mom on the phone. She is in Colorado and I am in Montana. I told her about me joining LAWL and about my loss so far. I was expecting to hear a "good for you" or "good job" or maybe "It's about time!", but what I get is, "Let's see, I lost 26 lbs. my first month" and then "what happened with your low carb diet?" (I lost 90 lbs. 6 years ago, gained 60 of it back) She got diagnosed with diabetes and was forced to change her diet and lose weight. She has lost almost 70 lbs. and was so supportive of her through the whole change and loss. I was so irritated and hurt!!!! Oh well, I am doing this for me and for nobody else.
Thanks for letting me rant.
Later chickies!

I have a TO question. When you ladies do TO with the oranges or the Knudson juice, do you tell the COD you're doing TO? Do you just write "white lies" in your journal? They mentioned giving TO a try today at WI. I've been stuck for almost two weeks and they said I should consider it to get things moving again. I wanted to hit the 20 lb mark when I go to Florida at the end of the month. I don't foresee it happening anymore and I'm getting a little ticked off. If I do decide to try TO I don't think I'll tell them because I really don't want to spent $24 on their juice.

Way to "want" Marissa. You can do this!!

Don't worry Erin, you will probably have a loss next time.

Debbie- Sorry that your mom upset you. You have taken a great step by joining LA, and learning a way of eating for life. Just remember that that this weight loss journey is for YOU!!

Rebeca- I think it is too much to WI 3 times a week. Can you go in to your COD and not WI part of the time?

Dawn- I just tell them that I did TO with oranges, because I cannot afford the juice. They have never given me any trouble. In fact, one counselor told me she thinks that oranges is just as good as the juice. They were weird about the Knudsens though....

Thumbs up good WI

I weighed in today, and although the loss was insignificant, it was still a loss! I fessed up the the McD mishap from last night and the counselor there was VERY supportive - she actually said that if I hadn't had dairy after I got home from hockey practice, it would have been POP, if not a little high in sodium! I just didn't know how to mark it (rookie move!) so I went back to my planned day, and let it go. Now I know better!

Deb, sorry about your mom's comments - sometimes, just like kids, they say the darndest things.... but you are right - this is about YOU - don't let anyone discourage you. You've taken the first step, now onwards and downwards!

Hello Everyone!! Hope your day is going well!!
I stayed up really late last night ironing and pricing my kids' clothes for a big consignment sale. Hoping, I make a lot this sale to put back in the clothing $$ pot. My eight yr. old asked if she could have the money from her clothes that we sell. She was excited when I said yes, but she lost the enthusiasm when I told her that it would go toward her new spring clothes.

Repo,
Gotta tell ya' that I love the pita pizza recipe. I have it all the time.

Default Hello out there...

Hi All and to all the newbies!

Well, we didn't end up in Indy due to the snowstorm that was coming in on Saturday morning. We drove to Columbus to meet up with my DSis and then decided to head south. My DSIL wanted to go to a casino, so we ended up in southern IN instead of Cincinnati. Though I'm not really a casino goer, I had a nice time, as the hotel/casino we went to was REALLY nice, and we spent a lot of time in our rooms, playing cards, man bashing etc. The scale is being very unkind to me as of late, I am maintaining, and finding it terribly hard to leave the carbs alone right now. This weekend? TO, and a fresh start!

Katie - you're so sweet to wonder about little ole me. Thanks, lady. Since I got back I have been really swamped and stressed here at work, so that doesn't leave a lot of time to read or post. The nerve of some people thinking I actually come here to do work. I read your wants and a few others, and they are extremely motivating. When I have more time I will go back and read more. I also need to get back into the mindset I had when I first joined.

To all you chickies out here, you seem to be doing great. I can't wait until I'm worthy to post with the likes of you all again. Till then...!

I’m trying to understand all the substitutions for the TO juice. I’ve read through the last 21 pages of threads and the only substitution I think I understand is the Knudsen juice and cantaloupe. What about oranges? One thread said ½ an orange for every serving of TO juice and another said 4 oranges, but it didn’t say if that was a day or total for 2 days. If it’s for 2 days, the ½ orange four times a day would make sense. Also can you substitute “not from concentrate” orange juice for the oranges, 2 oz. of OJ = ½ orange? I don’t think I would want to do that. I’m just curious.

Dawn, I do 3-4 whole small oranges per day.

Leah, Thanks, I love that recipe too. I made turkey chili for lunch and ate it with a piece of toast. Felt like the good ole' days!

Carmen, Glad you had a good time. After not hearing from you for a few days, I was worried that something went amiss on your trip. BTW, you ALWAYS worthy to post with us! Same goes for all of you lurkers out there, you know your names!
