all of the recipes that say "cooked" mean the measurement is takewn when the food has been cooked. 1/4 is about 1/2 cooked, but measure it cooked to get the right amount because eyeing the measurements can lead to lareger servings.
Thanks shennie_97, I was saving my other starch until someone replied. Glad I didn't eat it. I looked on the oatmeal box, and it said a serving was a half cup, dry, so I thought I was doing it right. Guess I get to count it as both my starches for today.
i just posed this question to the LAWL manager of my store.
she said 1 pkt of the quaker PLAIN oatmeal is 1/2 cup cooked.
I have twin 4 yr old boys that i have to get ready in the morning and
myself... this really helps me.
My book says "1/2 cup, plain" - it does NOT say cooked. Right underneath for the pasta serving it does say cooked, but not for oatmeal. So I'm assuming it's 1/2 cup uncooked. That's in my purple and blue books.
