Help!
O.K.-I blew my diet yesterday! I have been on LAWL for almost 2 months! I have lost almost 10 lbs., I also try to run/walk about 3 miles on my treadmill about 5 x's a week. I was doing great on my diet until I started exercising! Now I have lost diet motivation, not exercise motivation, and I have stopped losing! I do not want to waste this much money! My counselors put me on the new "red" plan for exercisers. I just can't get my head back into the game! I still have about 36 lbs. to go! Help me find the motivation to get back on my diet please. I am always dreading weigh in and I have even been skipping days every now and then because I know I haven't lost anything. I am in a rut!
Thanks ahead of time! Amber |
I feel the same way - once I started exercising, I stopped being strict w/ the food plan. I had lost 35 lbs before starting to exercise and since I started 2 mos ago, I've lost a few lbs - like 4 lbs in 2 mos :( They also put me on a higher food plan, but like you - I'm completely unfocused on staying on plan.
So I'm going to try my best - starting w/ take-off tomorrow, to get back on track AND keep exercising. |
I had the same problem when I started to exercise, with regards to WL. I stopped losing. My clothes kept fitting better and better though, so I knew that inches and pounds were not keeping up. As for going off plan, someone on here said that we go through a Honeymoon stage with our diet where we are militant about staying on plan, then when we get into a more comfortable stage, it is easier to start lapsing on our plan. I say find some way to get back to the honeymoon!! Set some goals, post them on your fridge, mirror, etc. Try to remember why you started LAWL in the first place. Good luck!! Katie

Try doing cardio ONLY for the first couple of weeks, i know stregth training is a must, but i had the same problem last year for two weeks when i started working out, and i could not lose weight. My counselor suggested to keep it to cardio only, perhaps just walking or running at first and then once your body gets used to you working out, then add in strength training, plus you have to remember weights will help you gain muscle, and muscle weighs more then fat, so right now your in a stage where your gaining muscle, but in the long run, muscle will help you increase your metabolism and burn more calories. Its all about burning off more calories then you take in.
