Carmen,
I know what you mean about coming off of TO and eating different (and more) food!
I came off of it...and the first thing I wanted when I woke up the following AM was an apple! And then the first day back I was trying to fight to get all of my portions in.
You soon slip back into the mode, though...today (2nd day back in) was LOTS easier

What do you guys do to follow the plan when you're sick? All I want to do is sit around sipping Ginger Ale and eating toast...

Star, have to spoke with Karen/Rusty? Isn't she in Alabama? I hope she wasn't in Katrina's path. I hope she is OK!

Hi Everyone.

Last night was absolute mayhem! I left work in time to catch a 5:40 bus. I should have made it home by 6:15 but did not get there until almost 8:00. It seems that they changed the schedule without notifying anyone, and then on top of that the freeways were jam packed coming out of downtown, so we were sitting for over an hour in a bus on the freeway in a huge traffic jam, soaking wet, many of us having to use the bathroom (thanks LAWL), with steady rain hitting the aluminum top of the bus. Then this morning we had a new driver who kept missing everyone's stops. It was incredible. I am about to fire off an email to the bus company. The worst of it all is that they know they've got everyone by the jewels because of the gas prices. Okay, finished ranting...

Mary - I hope Eli is okay. Please keep us informed.

Dee - did you find that TO helped with carb cravings? I think mine are under control now. Again.

Julie - I was watching the weather channel last night and they showed tornado watches in your area. I'm praying that you all remain safe.

Everyone else, here's to a POP day! Water Check - 26 oz down...

Hi chicks!

Eek, Mary - could you find the remains of what your DS sampled?

Jenn, when I don't feel well, I try to still stay within the same amount of calories -- sometimes I'm like a kid and just need a little pampering. .

Carmen - we have lots of wind today, but everything seems to be safe and sound. To bad about the bus -- can you find out if there's a more direct route today, or did you drive in?

BTW, I heard on the news yesterday that becuz of Katrina and the oil refinery problems, we can expect that gas prices will go up .25 in the next few days. Groan. They also were strongly hinting that Bush will release some of the strategic reserves . ..

I'm heading to the dentist on Friday. I hope that all this major dental work isn't catching! On the plus side, the eczema on my feet is almost finally under control -- I've only been battling this for the past couple of years. I see a pedicure in my future soon.

Hi to all you other chicks!

Julie

Hi to all you other chicks!

Julie
Our gas prices have jumped $.23 in the last two days. They did announce that it was coming and I ran down to the station and filled up at the lower price. I also heard that about President Bush releasing the reserves.

What are you having done at the dentist? Hopefully it is just a cleaning or something as non-serious. I'm glad my implant is done, even if my lip is swollen up and I look like a chipmunk! The only thing that is sore this morning is my lip where they gave me the shot.

Funny, I was thinking this morning about getting a pedicure myself as a reward for the weight loss. I'm down 41.8 pounds since June 1! Yesterday helped as I couldn't eat and I hope I can hang on to the loss after I start eating again. I'm going to take the advice and try to eat close to the same calories, even if it isn't the exact same food.

Anyway, congratulations on having the eczema under control and enjoy the pedicure!

Regina - just a regular cleaning -- I have to go every 4 months or so, because my body chemistry just produces plaque a little too fast -- if I wait 6 months, it's harder on everyone . ..

I filled up yesterday

You've done great in just under 3 months!

Regina - that is a very impressive loss for 3 months. Are you still on Red? Do you exercise as well?

I am still on Red and no, I don't exercise. I made a deal with myself that as soon as I got under 250 (now) or fall weather came, I would start walking in the park. Now I need to start!

Mary--my hubby designed a telephone/data network for Exxon/Mobile in Houston through SBC. What a small world.

I'm so glad Eli is okay.

I'm glad Eli is doing ok! I'm sure by now you have moved the doggie medicine form its previous place. Now you will just have to take a look around and see what else his new height will get him into!

I don't worry about a pound or so up because it is usually gone by the next weigh in. It usually takes a couple of friends with it!

Mary - I LOVED BL last year!! It didn't depress me at all, because I'm sure if I had a chef overseeing every bite I put in my mouth and a personal trainer kicking my butt 6-8 hours a day, I'd lose 16 pounds a week, too. I didn't compare my actual losses to the TV group, but I do think that maybe it helped me stay on track with the plan a bit more, because it was always at the front of my mind, ya know?

I go back and forth between and on the gas thing. Yep, I about died when I stopped for gas this morning and it was up $.20 from last night, but then really, to fill my tank was only about $2.50 more than it would have been the night before, and I've spent more than that on breakfast or snacks without blinking an eye. (Only having to fill up every 10-12 days helps, too. )

I've never seen BL, and will catch it if I can. Even though we have two remotes, hubby knows he is king of the TV and we pretty much watch what he wants to. There are very few shows I want to see that he doesn't watch, but if BL comes on at a time when something he watches comes on I will simply record it on the DVR and watch it the next day, or I can go in the bedroom and watch it there. I don't think seeing someone lose 16 pounds in a week would depress me, but rather would inspire me to do better. Who knows? I may feel differently if I'm at a plateau though.

On the FSIL thing, I think moving in would be the best thing that could happen for your in-laws to see her true colors. It shouldn't take too long for them to come out. Like you, I'd love to be a fly on the wall when Grandma gets the news.

That would probably be the best way for your BIL to find out what living with her will be like before they tie the knot.
