I think my turbo jam is here. I have a package to pick up from UPS in the morning.....it has to be turbo jam and i will be turbo jamming it all weekend

shennie_97 01-14-2006 10:12 AM

Started turbo jam today. did the intor tape (25min) and the 20 minute workout (20 minutes) Phone kept rining all morning so I was stop and go and eventually got tired out, thankfully no one calls during the week so i can try the 20 minute every morning during the week.

I love it!!:carrot:

Hi gals - thought I'd introduce myself to this thread. I joined LAWL in June of last year and did NO exercise for the first 4 months. I lost 30 lbs and then started exercising at a friend's house on her treadmill. She got me real motivated and now I've joined a gym.

My goal is to get there 4 times a week (I work part time and have 3 kids under 6). Last week I made it 5 times and did a total of 12 miles on the treadmill, crunches and the bike machine (where your legs are more out in front of you rather than being above them like on a real bike).

I would love to try that stair climber thing, and I have trouble with the elliptical trainer - it makes my feet hurt - very strange.

Hope I can keep up with this thread :)

Shennie - what is turbo jam???

I just spent 3.5hrs up on the mountain. 11/2 hr skate ski lesson plus about 2 hrs practicing.
I was lousy today - the snow was icy and hard and very hard to learn on. But the hardest part of all was watching my friends eat a yummy lunch at the lodge - while i had a glass of hot water..

I'm on my second day of Take off - don't feel any lighter, but I'll give it till tomorrow.

Sznn~ it's a dance, karate kind of cardio DVD program. I heard the chicks on here talk about it and then a few weeks ago when I couldn't sleep I was suckered into the infomercial and bought it. I useto go to a cardio karate class at my gym when I had time and it seems about the same, so I loved that class and am glad I can do it at home.

I plan to do the 20 minute one again before I go to bed, or maybe I will be adventerous and try the 45 minute cardio party

shennie_97 01-14-2006 07:52 PM

does anypone know if when you do cardio in the morning you should do it before or after breakfast? or does it even matter.

Shennie - I did the turbo sculpt tape yesterday - it's terrific! I'm feeling each muscle in my legs today.

About exercising on an empty stomach- what I've read is that it's better to do it that way, because then your body is trying to both digest AND exercise at the same time. But if you eat, then wait awhile? Star will have more words of wisdom tomorrow.

Did a 2hr ride this AM - it wasn't too brutal, but I didn't have much in me after yesterday.

I'm rather disappointed after doing the T/O - granted I ate more protein than the alloted 6oz - had to after all the exercise, I was ravenous.

Looks like a lost maybe 2lbs :?: - but it is TOM week. maybe that's the problem.

Anyone else that's done the unlimited T/O have success???
Just wondering.

SZNN...I lost 6 pounds on T/O and ate unlimited meats and greens..

Shennie..They say you sould do your cardio in the am on an empty stomach bacause your body will burn the stored fat first instead of the carbs you eat...I'm a personal trainer and that was what we were taught...if you work out at night empty stomach equates to 2 hours of no food before workout....

I had a great workout yesterday....30 min of kickboxing/bag work and 30 min of free weights.....YAY me

I am so jealous you guys. I really want to exercise, but my fibromyalgia is so flared up, that I don't dare.

Gymgirl- any exercise advice for me?

Star 01-16-2006 10:37 AM

Gymgurl - I heard the same thing about working out first thing in the morning, to burn stored body fat. Then I heard soemthing else, it seems to always change.. I like working out in the morning the best. Get up, do it and finish the day with exercise under your belt......

Gymgurl 01-17-2006 08:40 AM

Repo...What about Yoga? Buy yourself a beginners tape! Shouldn't be to irritating..

Well I only got in 30 min on the eliptical.....burnt 300 cals....had to go swiming with the kids.....today I plan on lifting.....
