They have and most of the people that are instructors were very over weight when they started.. supposedly just from that one workout it raises your metab to burn the fat all week... I will say this about it, yesterday I did WI I was up a little but my pants were falling off where even the day before they were loose but not to that point.. :0 now im not saying that just the one workout did that but I'm sure it helped.

It is ture that muscle burns fat, so when you lift weights you burn more calories thuruout the day. I don't know if I agree with that one workout will make your metab speed up for a whole week. Maybe they mean that your body just burns more when you increas your muscle mass.

mmm gotta luv that stuff..... I guess we'll see if this works this will motivate me to keep going.. this week is going to be hard to get there and to keep on plan... I have about 30 family members coming for my sons graduation and then hes leaving for the marines on the 5th.. :(

Star 05-24-2005 09:51 AM

Oh Rah!!!! :drill: :cp: My son is a Marine too.

Sounds like it will be tough for you to stay on plan. Us Oldies on here call those events "life happens" events. We all have em and hey are tough for everyone. Some chicks stay on plan (with alot of will power and plannig) others (like me  ) go with the flow and live the 'life happens' stuff then get back on-plan right afterward. It's a relly tough call.

Good luck with all the company! Where is DS going for bootcamp?

buttonsinabox 05-24-2005 09:58 AM

san diego this is his first time going away for longer then a week.. hes just leaving so soon after graduation I think thats whats getting to me..

Star 05-24-2005 10:06 AM

Being a Marine helped my son so much, he grew into a much stronger, organized, proud yung man.....
Boot camp is tough - they kick their butts.....
I'm sure you are very proud of him....
Once a Marine always a Marine - I've seen that in action - the respect they share is amazing.

05/25/05 - Cardio Day - Treadmill 45 minutes

Okay something really strange happened today. I hate to admitt this but I quit smoking Sunday night. This morning I already noticed that to keep my heart rate up I had to increase the speed on the treadmill from 3.8 to 4.2. This to me is a huge thing, first off I can't believe that with just not even 3 full days of no smoking my body is responding so fast. Maybe it is becuz I only smoked 3 ciggarettes a day? Anyhow, I was pretty shocked. BTW, I'm doing good with no smoking - plan to keep it up forever........

buttonsinabox 05-25-2005 07:46 PM

Star woohoo on the NOT smoking... you've just givin your body something that all the excercise in world couldn't...

Yes I am very proud of my son but at the same time with the world the way it is Im scared too death as well... I hope this works out for him.. He is a kid that needs structure...

Well today is the first day since sat. that im not sore... unless I take a deep breath and pull my abs in then I can still feel them puppies...

Star 05-26-2005 11:03 AM

Beth - Well you have hurt long enuf - glad the soreness finally went away (or atleast til next session).

Your DS will get more structure than he ever knew exsisted in the Mariens! My DS did good for the learning more structure too, although since he was active in Desert Storm, he could use a refresher course about now.....and his wife would agree with me there....lol

Yes, I'm still doing great on not smoking. Thanks for the thumbs up. I was more of a closet smoker anyhow and never liked people seeing me do it...... But if I drank I smoked way more and in public. Since I'm trying so hard to lose this last part of my weight, I don't really drink anymore - can't afford the calories (darn).

Hugs

Left pedometer home today -- don't know how many steps I've taken.

Star 05-31-2005 10:03 AM

Hi Chicks -

I'm back. Didn't make it to the gym today, was way too tired from the four day weekend. Will go back tomorrow.

Still haven't smoked - it's been a week as of yesterday - pretty good.

Star 06-01-2005 09:58 AM

Got up alittle late today, BUT went to the gym anyhow....
Did cardio (treadmill) for 45 minutes.....Will go again tomorrow.....
Oh Rah.......

auditgirl 06-01-2005 10:24 AM

Star-Good for you on not smoking! I too was/am a closet smoker...something about when I have a couple of drinks I really want to smoke. So I did smoke quite a bit lst weekend with the girls in town and won't touch them again until the end of July for our next get together....wish I wouldn't touch them at all...ever!!!

I know i haven't checked in much, I've been so off plan with my back to back girls weekends that I've spent the last week getting back to my starting point. I've been walking at least 5 miles a day still 5-6 days a week...so while I'm not necessarily a POP chick, I'm still a fit chick :tread:

Jen
