Good Afternoon Ladies...
Can you believe that I have time to post in the morning and in the afternoon...I am amazed....and it is now 3:45 and I only have 1/2 hour of work left...I can make....I know I can.... Ad4now....Welcome...Actually Kim has asked you all the same questions that I was going to. What plan did the center put you on?? How many weightloss weeks did you buy?? Remember that the first 3 days you were fasting/drinking that juice stuff and you will drop the weight quick...don't get discouraged yet...it has only been 2 weeks. It takes at least 4 weeks till your body gets in a routine. It is hard to say why you have gained. How often do you weigh in 3x a week?? Have you gained a pound at each weigh-in or have you gained a pound all together. Also, you do need to consider if TOM is close. I can gain up to 4 lbs 2 weeks before it even gets here. If you have started an exercise program and are lifting weights it is possible to see a gain. Also, if you do eat off plan in the beginning you will see a slower weight loss. Sometimes the slightest cheat will show a gain. This is a really tough plan and it can get expensive. Did you purchase the bars?? Each person is different so what works for one may not work for all. This plan has done wonders for me personally...I look at food in a totally different way. Sometimes I think about food too much....but if that is what it takes to keep the weight off then I am willing to do it. When I see food now I think wow..that is 2 startches or that is 3 fruits or that is 5 veggies....I think of food in portions now...like I never eat 2 startches in one meal...I could go on and on. I don't want to overwhelm you yet...You are still new to the plan. But please don't get discouraged try and stick with it. Keep posting we are all her for support. Believe me...I am now on maintenance and it is just as hard. You can do this!!!! Well it is time for me to get ready for the gym...on Mondays I change into my gym clothes at work so I can make the 5:30 spin class at our gym. Keep your fingers crossed I am PMSing and craving that peanut butter but I can't do it....gotta be good on my eating...I just keep telling myself that. Good morning all!
Yesterday was a very good eating day for me. On Monday's I don't work at night so sometimes it's hard to stay on plan. It's that TOM for me and I'm not feeling bloated or anything but the cravings become strong but I have fought the feelings and last night I went up stairs to bed. I didn't sleep well last night, thinking about the weekend already. I have 2 funerals this week and I'm scheduled to be off Thrus & Fri so we can leave early. I don't know if it will be possible to leave early but it will be nice to have a couple of days off to get myself together. Yesterday was hard working and trying not to let my mind go back to what had happened over the weekend. I worked out this morning, I couldn't sleep anyway so I might as well make good use of that time. Working out always make me feel better. Tab-It is a nutritionist, so we'll see how it goes. Everyone has told me that I've lost so much weight, but I just don't see it. At least not like that, I know I've lost inches and it has helped in my clothes but I want to see the pounds go down as well. I still have the determination to lose this weight so I'm going to do what it takes. I go back on Sept 2nd, so we'll see how it goes. Hi Diane, Marcie & Ad4now, how are things going? Good Morning Everyone....Where are you??? I see I was the last to post yesterday and the first to post this morning. Boy that is a first.
Well I have to report I made it through my first day of no cheats. I did sooo well yesterday I past on all my temptations. I am just trying to get myself together from my beach trip. I found myself slipping into my old eating...not as bad...but I was on the verge. Last night I did spin class and then hubby suprised me and meet me at gym and then him and I lifted a little weights and then we did a little more cardio and then we went home and had a good healthy dinner. With our wacky schedules that was a first for us in a long time. Well I am on day two and so far soooo good. I am leaving work early today at 2pm I have a meeting out of building so I will try and check back in but I am also going to try to get a run in at lunch time. Hope everyone is doing OK. I will check back in before I leave for the day. |
Kim...It looks like you and I were posting at the same time...I was not the first to post this morning...*smile* Keep us informed as to what the nutrionist says. It will be interesting to here.

I have been a little moody about the weight thing lately. I feel like I think about it too much. So after my long beach weekend this week I want to get back into LAWL and go from there. Hello Diane...I have been on maintence for about 2 months and I am staying within my range...but I went a little crazy last weekend at the beach and I had some major munchies because of TOM so I gained 3lbs so I am hoping some of it is due to TOM so I am trying to be really good. When are you planning to go back to LAWL??
Us here in the DC area were not affected by the blackout...but boy I could only imagine if that happened while I was at work here in Downtown DC what a nightmare it would be. I live about an hour south of the city...it would proably be impossible to get home. Which beach did you go to?? We went to Ocean City and the weekend we went was cold and rainy but we made the best of it. Well gotta a 1pm and then a 2pm meeting....everyone have a great day and I will try and check in sometime tomorrow. |

I want to back next week some time either Tuesday or Wednesday. We are going to Bethany Beach in Delaware, at this point I really don't want to add anymore on I just hope to maintain while we are away. When the black out happen we only lost our power for 4 hours but what made in worse it went back off the next morning and did not come back on until that evening. But everything seem fine now. Well have a nice week every one I won't be back until next Tuesday. Diane |

Good afternoon ladies,
It's been a busy morning and I've just got a chance to write. Since today is my last day until Monday, I wanted to just drop a few lines. I have so much to do in such a short time, going out of town this weekend was not in the schedule but neither is death, we just deal with it when it takes place. Diane-Good luck on going back to LAWL and enjoy your time away at the beach! I worked last night and went to the gym this morning, hadn't done that in a while! But it was good exercising since I hadn't been consistant in a while. This is 3 days straight and I'm heading for 5 this week. Since I'm off Th & Fri, I plan on getting early and being at the gym by 5AM and back home by 7:30. We'll see what tomorrow brings. I may have to stop in the office tomorrow morning, if I do I'll post before leaving and if not, you girls have a great week and weekend. I'll touch basis next week. |
Hey everyone! It's nice to see so many posts! I wasn't really sure if I would get any replies to my post...thanks so much!
To answer a few questions. I started on August 5th, 2003...and I have to date....lost 8 lbs. I am on the Purple Plan....and my goal is to lose 52 lbs....So 44 lbs left to go. I signed up for the year plan, and according to them it should take 26 weeks for me to lose down to my goal of 52 lbs, and then I have 26 weeks of maintenance after that. I purchased the soy protein bars, and I purchased all the supplements...thinking that would really help, so I was quite disappointed when I started to gain. My counselor thought it might have been that I had eaten beef the day before weighing both days....not two days in a row...but yet the day before weighing...so she said try to eat beef the day I weigh AFTER I weigh, so my body has more time to get rid of it. I do keep a food diary, and even started writing down the time of day I eat. I am also being very careful with portions, and bought a food scale and am measuring all my food out into containers and packing my lunch for work. I have also not eaten any food outside (like gone out to eat) as I am afraid they may add salt or something to the food that I should not have. I go to the center and weigh in three times a week...(generally Mon, Wed, & Frid) after work. Around 5:15...so I get to go and weigh today. Actually Monday was when I was feeling really down, cause I had gained 1/2 a pound the Wednesday before, and another 1/2 on the Friday before when I weighed. And I have been religiously following the plan...no cheating whatsoever...cause I would really like to do well. But Monday (18th) when I weighed in I had lost 1/2 a lb...so I felt better, then on Wednesday (20th) I had lost 2 more lbs!! I was feeling MUCH better then. So I hope today I continue the losing streak, and have some good news to report. I have not started an exercise routine....does anyone have anything they would suggest? My day is pretty much spent sitting, as I am a computer programmer by day, and a student by night... :( so I spend allot of time in a chair. Something that I would not have to spend tons of time on would be great...(is there such a thing?) Thanks again for all your thoughts! It's greatly appreciated! Have a great day! |
Wow....what a week it has been!! One more crazy week to go and then things calm down at work. Thankfully....because classes start in two weeks!
I had a pretty good on plan week considering the hectic schedule I had. I ate a few extra meals and a few less supplements, but last time I did thing it didnt hurt me too bad. We will see what the scale says later today! I think I did the best I could given the situation...and that is all you can do! Have a great weekend ladies! Marcie |
Ad, I am so glad that you joined LA. I think they have a great program. I lost 60 lbs but the sad thing is that I had a divorce and gained it all back. I am almost back to mu start weight. I am going back on plan though. That part I am very excited about. As far as exersise goes, I did and will be going to the gym 6 days a week taking Wednesdays off and working out for an hour. I do upper body one day and lower the next and do cardio 6 days a week.

Good morning everyone....
Well I can say that I had a pretty good weekend. My hubby went out of town so I only had myself to worry about myself. The bad thing is that when he is not around I have a tendency not to eat. I lived off peanut butter and apples this weekend. I did have a salad for dinner. It was great. Not to good for the diet...I mean there are worse things I could have done but I enjoyed my peanut butter and apples. I went to weigh on Saturday and I was down 3.6lbs that I had gained the previous week (from TOM and my beach trip). I am staying within the range that I set for myself. To be honest I would like to drop just a few more pounds. I know I could do it if I cut out some of my foods (I am talking about my snacking). I am happy where I am but....there is always that but...I would love to lose a few more. So far I have been on plan today....that is a good thing since it is only 11:15 and I plan to continue for the rest of the week. Me and my girlfriends are planning an all girls get together beach trip for Sept 11-15...that will be a good time. My girlfriends in-laws have a beach house in Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. So I am sure I will be consuming lots of calories that weekend. ad4now...WTG on the 8lbs...that is awesome keep up the good work. You sound like you are sooooo on track. I was once like you. Reading your post made me realize how much I don't do anymore. I mean I still keep track of my food but now I kinda do it by eye. To lose these last few pounds that "I" want to I need to get back on the right track. Keep us posted on your success it makes me double think how I do things. You ask about exercise when I first started I did a lot of cardio. I just started adding weightlifting back in. Kim...How was your weekend?? kmabry1234....Welcome to our group. It is nice to hear that you enjoyed the program. I also enjoy the program. I have been on maintenance for 2 months and so far so good. I still have bad days just like always but I now know what I am doing wrong with my eating and I just get back on plan the following day. Sounds like you like to workout alot also. Kim and I are the same way. I go to the gym usually 7 days a week. I know that you are supposed to take a day off....but....I take it easy on the 7th day. I just feel that I have to do something. Plus, I enjoy working out. I know alot of people think I am crazy but I do enjoy it. Looking forward to reading your posts and hearing about your success...we can all learn from each other.
