I think there are pros and cons to taking a break. The pro is you will have a new sense of motivation and feel refreshed when you start again. The con is that you will definately gain some weight! Like me. : ) So...I suggest that you work hard at staying on plan. You have been soooo close to goal for so long. You can do it!!! Snapy- I understand that you are ready to eat something besides raw veggies!! After 3 days I am sick of them too!!! Did you miss the carbs? |

I thought I better post early this morning since I already know it's going to be another rough day at work. At least I started my day with a good workout--for the first time in a while I did 80 minutes of cardio, I really felt great! I also did light weights this morning. I feel so refresh after working out. Monkeybabies-I got a deal!!! I went to Rack Room and found some workout shoes, they were on sale for $40, regular price $70 (crosstrainers), so I was happy about getting a bargin:). They really felt good this morning during my workout. I am Tab--congrats on your WL. We'll take anything at this point and time. A lost is always better than a gain. Good luck on your party this weekend! SnapyGing-I wish you well on your weigh in. Sounds like you've done a great job. I really think the 3 days help to get you started in the right direction. I lost almost 7lbs in my first 4 days. Jibbelle-I ordered 2 Walk the Pounds off video. Hopefully, I'll be getting them soon. My membership at Bally's limits me to only the gym downtown. I hate I got that one. Hopefully, these tapes will help me do more at home, which is were I really need it. Good luck to all who weighs in today and I'll check in after my afternoon workout;) |
Good loss
I weighed in today.... lost 2.8 pounds since Tusday am. I was really happy. My body tends to have a good loss, like 2-4lbs and then I am at 5oz, 7oz etc here and there. With a final gain for my period. Then back down again. It's ok though, as long as I lose. I find shrimp really good. When I eat it I do well, plus it lowers bad cholesterol and is one of those foods that also raises the good one.
I too am glad the group is here....some days I just want to pig out and I find some motivation here to stick to it. The caramel bars are really good. I haven't really tried the LUNA so I am going to check them out this weekend. Take care all Nadine |

It's raining:rain:cats and dogs here in the DC area! I just came back from my 2nd workout:cb:! I'm feel pretty good. My goal is always to burn at least 1000 calaries a day and I always make that and then some with 2 workouts. I really don't know how true the numbers are, I use the machines where I can put my weight in. Even if I don't, I feel good just thinking I do. nvbb76-congrats on your lost:dancer: I love seafood to, shrimp and crab legs are my favorites. I really have to be careful because of the cholesterol. Mines was up almost a year ago, but on yesterday, I got a clean bill of health. The bad cholesterol was low, my blood pressure is back to normal 115/70 (I previously was on HP medication, I'm officially off now). I do understand the temtations to pig out, Lord knows I have those times. I don't win every battle, but I'm learning not to lay down and give up. I just say to myself, OK it was a bad day. Tomorrow will be better and move on. It's even harder for me because my DH has never had a weight problem nor his siblings so he doesn't always understand when I say I can't have that or do you mind not eating pizza tonight just to help me out. He's very supportive of anything I do and he's getting better with that. Hang in there girl, you're not alone. I hope everyone is having a good day today, I'll check back later on. |

With a lot help from Kathy ( she used to do La on this thread) I started the three day yesterday. So far I feel pretty good. I also ordered some luna bars for a change from the LA ones. I like the idea of weekends off, but I had a hard time keeping in control of things. Some of the things added were hot dogs, almonds, english muffins, animal crackers, sun chips, pringles right crisps, lt. cool whip, boca burgers, beans, pizza. The protein is cut way down so if I use it at lunch, I would have trouble at dinner. For me I am allowed 5oz. of protein 3veg, 2fruit, 5 starches 2fats 8oz milk and 2 lites. I need to plan it better next time I do it. Now I am looking just to stay on track for a change. Where do you usually buy your bars from, just seeing if you are getting a better price than I was. I did not really look and just went to drugstore.com Diane |
I bought one case (15 bars) for $11 including shipping. I get them from ebay usually.
I think the weekend off may be good for your body. The shakeup of foods may keep your body from getting accustomed to the same thing and hitting a plateau. |

Good afternoon ladies,
It's been another rough day here at the office. I was determined to write before I leave for the day. I hope all had a good OP day. It's been hard to get in the food today. I've had 2 meetings that have lasted all day. I'm just now getting out and will be leaving soon. It has been a crazy day:dizzy:. I was able to workout this morning, which I'm glad I did. Not as much as I would have liked. My supervisor asked me to meet her in the office early so we could go over a report before the meeting and she showed up an hour later. I was not a happy person, I cut my workout short by 45 minutes because of her request and not even an explanation. Oh well, such as life, but I won't do that again. This has been the kinda day where I could eat everything in site but I'm going to reframe. You girls have a great weekend and I'll write on Monday |
I'm still hanging in here. just trying to maintain until after my move. i've been eating out a lot with friends who want to take me out before i leave town. have done fairly good, but exercise has been lacking last week or so. move for good on the 30th, so hoping to stay on track so i can hit it hard again when i get settled at the new place. hope everyone has a great weekend.

I got the weekend off plan today from the center...wow...so many choices and so many food groups to get into one day! It made my head spin! I am so accustomed to eating the same things every day.
I just went grocery shopping and picked up some bananas and goldfish! : ) Two of my favorite things. Our center finally got the caramel crunch bars!! Anyone else try them yet? They are very different than the other bars. The consistency is kind of like a rice krispy treat. I did not think it was really "caramel-ly" but it is definately the best bar so far! |

The one think I know I will like about weekends off is the fact that it has less protein. It is hard for me to eat that much meat! I also like the variety the plan adds. Some of the foods on the list I keep in the house for Matt, so now I can eat them too sometimes. : )

I have trouble with the protein when its chicken, its feel like I have to stuff myself. Are you going to do it for the two days.

Big Weight Loss
Hi Everyone,
Sorry i didn't get back sooner. My house went on the market on Friday and it's been sooooooooooo been crazy! We had an offer the first day! Anyway, I had my first w/i on Friday and lost ........drum roll pls.............5.2lbs:D !!!!! I'm sooooo excited. On Monday I'm suppose to buy my lites......which ones do you recommend? I've tried the carmel crunch and they were delish....i guess anything would be good after three days of raw veggies:lol: . However, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated........God Bless!!!!!!! Keep up the good work everyone!!!!!! I'll check back on Monday AM. |
Congrats on the loss!!! I am sure it feels great! I like the chocolate crunch the best...well...that was before they got the caramel! I also like the chocolate shakes. I will tell you know that none of the other bars have the same consistency as the caramel. The others are more solid...if that makes sense.
Diane- I think the one thing I find difficult with the weekends off is getting the fats in. I had a bagel yesterday and the serving of low fat cream cheese is 3 tbs!! That is A LOT of cream cheese. I will buy some nuts to keep on hand to help get the fats in. I can not eat 4 servings of margarine, cream cheese, or sour cream a day...and I do not cook much with oil...especially when there is only one meat serving a day. I have stuck to the weekends off plan perfectly....so I am anxious to see what my weight is like on Monday! |

I am glad you enjoyed the weekends off, I am curious to see how you weigh in goes. I would not be able to handle the nuts myself, I guess I would have to buy a small bag. Did you feel hungry during the day? Sometimes I notice when I have more starches I feel more edgy. i have not done the weekends off for a while but I don't think I got all the fat in either. Where are you supposed to put it, just eating it plain would be kind of gross. Are all your wedding plans done? Diane |
I think the starches actually curb my appetite and I tend to not want to binge when I eat more carbs. Less protein is good for me, because I really dont like meat.
I think it will be easier to make it through the week on plan knowing I can have a few "treats" on the weekends. We will see how it goes! We will not get confirmation on our date choice from the church until June 1st. Once they call....we will book all of the vendors we have chosen. So far, I think I have picked the reception venue, DJ, florist, and photographer. I am ordering my dress next Saturday. : ) We still need to work on tuxes, transportation, bridesmaid dresses, honeymoon, rehearsal dinner, and a few other things. Not too bad considering the wedding isnt until June 19, 2004. So far so good! I hired a wedding coordinator and I am SOOOO glad! She has been a huge help so far and it will be nice not to sweat the details the day of. : ) |
Well, I have been reading all your post and thought that the support here is great. So, I thiought I would join you. I joined LA weight loss 1 1/2 yrs ago, and lost almost all my weight. I felt great , until..... I gained it all back plus a few of their friends!!!!
I went back to my center on Thursday to pick up the bars that I pre purchased and thought I would do the program at home seeing my weeks were up. Instead.... they gave me back 16 weeks that I paid for in November and never used. So I am on my 3rd day of the 3 day program, this time I am using oranges instead of the juice. My husband bought me a Treadmill last month , so I am walking 2 miles a day and I will weigh in tomorrow. I am excited to be back on track, and to be here with all your support too! I will check in tomorrow with hopefully good news! :) |

If you eat 6 limited starches in two days over the weekend....does that mean you do not get any limited starches during the week? I guess the same goes for other limited foods too. If you do weekends off, chances are you use all of your limited foods in two days....so does that mean you eat only unlimited foods mon-fri? |

The weekends off is just that. Monday-Friday you are still able to have the limited starches and proteins. At least that is what I was told. Diane |

Glad to see so many posts this Monday morning. Well I weighed in on Saturday and I was down 4oz....but I am sure that I gained that plus some on Saturday and TOM is just a week away....so I expect a gain....darn. I went crazy again with the sweets. I had my pampered chef party which was a hugh success. But I had asked the guests to bring a dish....oh my goodness...I could not control myself. I had some chocolate truffle stuff, cake, cookies, fruit...dip in chocolate, pumpkin roll. I don't think I ate any real food all day Saturday. My party was at 2pm and most of my friends stayed until 8pm. Then we went to the movies and then we went out to a club. I tell you it was a long long day and I was so hyped up because of the sugars. I am sooooo worried about weighing in. I know I have gained something. But I did it to myself. I was back on track on Sunday...actually I was still stuffed from Saturday sooo I really didn't eat much on Sunday. And I was having stomach problems from all the sweets. But I enjoyed myself and I think I deserve it. I should have been just a bit more carefully. I went crazy...*smile* For those of you that are doing the weekends off I too am curious to see how your weigh in goes. I was afraid that I would gain because of all the startches....also I don't know if I could control myself by having startches and then cutting back. I have the plan just have not followed it yet. I am back to a normal work week. Which means my eating and working out will be back on plan. Congrats to those that took off some weight this weekend. I hope to be right with you....fingers crossed. I weighed in this weekend and no lost but no gain, so I'm glad for that. Weekends are really hard for me, I'm thinking about asking for the weekends off plan, I tend to eat more and drink less water. I'm so focused on the weekdays that it doesn't even bother me but as soon as Friday night get's here I start to get that feeling of wanting to overeat. You would think with all the exercise I do I would want to do right. Please keep us informed of your progress. I think I'm doing it without being on the program. SnapyGing--Congrats on your weight loss. It makes you feel so good about yourself and your efforts put into this program. I am Tab-You deserve that day off. If you gain than that's OK, you will lose it! I'm glad you had a good time. We focus so much on weight loss that we actually forget to enjoy life, I know I do! Weight loss becomes my every thought. hey guys, i'm still hanging in there a little bit under the 45 pound mark. have been off program for the last couple of days. i've packed up all my cookwear for the move, so i've been eating out a lot. haven't done too badly, but have definitely not been strict with myself. hoping to maintain through the move this weekend and then hit it hard next week. wish me luck

Hi Everyone.... Well I just weighed in after my 3 day w/ oranges and I lost 2.4.... I am happy with that.:) I was not thrilled with the girl who I spoke with today. I am glad she is not who I talked to last week, cause I don't think I would have re-joined. I had more imformation about the program then she did.
Looking forward to seeing the results of the weekends off. Not sure I will try it for a while. Maybe Easter weekend!;) |

There are three girls at my center and two are great but the other one isnt so bright. : ) She is nice, but she does not know too much about the program. I weighed in today after my weekends off weekend and I was the same. Not shabby for it being TOM and eating a ton of starches! I am trying it again next weekend....maybe I will be able to lose on it! |

I would be happy with that result for all the increased starches and TOM. There are a lot of new faces at my Center, I went in on Thursday with all intentions of getting my bars and never going back there. The girl that I spoke to was so kind and gave me my weeks back, and really motivated me, said she would put things aside for me until today. Then I went today, and this girl was clueless, didn't ask if I needed anything, (I needed the program, seeing I am on a new program (red) All I can say Is thank goodness I got the other girl Thursday, cause I think I would have gotten the boxes and left. It is nice to be encouraged. |
Maybe find out when the girl you like is working....and try to visit during those times! That is what I did at my old center. : ) That way I worked with the same 2 girls all the time.

Good Morning Ladies....
Well weigh in was not so kind to me last night. I was up 3.2lbs. Yikes......that puts me back in the 140's boo hoo. TOM is in 7 days so I am hoping that some of the gain is water. I am seriously thinking about doing the 3 day after TOM passes. I was upset but I realized that I did it to myself. I have been OP since Sunday so I am hoping to see some kind of results on Wednesday night. This gain puts me only as a 1lb loss for 4 weeks....that is soooo depressing....how can only one day of being off plan do that too you. No wonder I was heavy...if in one day I can gain 3.2lbs I can see how I was over 200lbs. It is too depressing to think about....but today is a new day. Jib....WTG...eating those starches and TOM and you stayed the same....that is awesome. Keep us posted on your success. I should think about doing weekends off when it gets close to TOM so I don't binge like I did this Saturday. How did you get all those starches in?? And were you hungry becuase we don't get alot of protein? irises...How does the 3 day work with oranges?? How many oranges do you have to eat? Do you still eat 2 eggs, meat, and raw green veggies. I need a jump start and the juice is expensive so if I can use the oranges I can handle that. GringaGordita....I hope the move goes well. Don't be too hard on yourself...you are going through a big change. You have come this far and you will succeed. Keep us posted on the move. Kim.....I too am very focused during the week. That is because I am at work and I seem to be on a schedule. Weekends are hard becasue I just don't eat...and then when I do I am starved and I eat everything that I am not supposed too. I think the starches were easy to get in....and I did not miss the protein at all! I made a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch, since it had to be no protein.
I had the most trouble getting in the fats. The servings sizes are large (like 3 tablespoons of light cream cheese) and they are not really foods you can just eat. I think I need to by some almonds since they are considered a fat. |
Jib....mmm mmm good....a whole grilled cheese sandwich...two pieces of bread...that sounds wonderful...I have not had a true sandwich since November. I wanna do weekends off....*smile* I just need to get these 3.2lbs off...then I might .... just might considering trying weekends off

I was a bit skeptical of it.....but the lady at the center assured me poeple still lose on it.
I think it is good for your body to get the food mix up once in a while. And the sandwich....it was YUMMMMMMY! During the weekend I also had some goldfish crackers and a WHOLE bagel with cream cheese. |

Hehehe....I will eat like a rabbit all weekend if I can have treats on the weekend! I think it is easier to stay on plan all week when I have something to look forward to on Saturday.

I am back again
Hello ladies..
Well, I am back to the program. I am on my second day of the Jump start stuff. Actually, I went to Walmart and bought the 48 hour diet stuff....and following the same program for the "take off Juice". I can't believe I have been off program for soo long. UGH..I only planned to be off for two weeks, and it ended up being a month. It was much harder to start up again this time:o I am so glad to see all the new posters..yahoo..we have such an active board again...:lol: I went to another birthday party the other day, and as I am grabbing a peice of chocolate cake....I over heard them say "LA WEIGHTLOSS" so, I chimed in I was doing the program (obviously, not at that moment with a peice of cake in hand) and she said that she lost 70 lbs in 3 months.....AHHHHHHH...doesn't that sound not so right??? To mee that sounds like soooo much in sooo little time. By the way..got my treadmill, finally...woohoooo. Hope everone is doing well. |
THere is no way she lost that much in that amount of time. That is 3/4 a lb a day!!
