Bread

So, I'm confused because on my plan (purple) it says 1 slice of lite bread is one starch...but I'm seeing that some people say that 2 slices is 1 starch...so what are the guidelines? I'm eating the Sara Lee that has 45 calories per slice. Thanks!

I did LA for the past 24 weeks. I ended my commitment last week. I was told as long as it was lite bread and less than 45 calories you could have 2 slices as one starch. I like the sunbeam 35 calorie a slice.

Are you on a number plan then? I guess that's what I'm hearing...that the numbered plans had 2 slices as a starch and the colored had one. I'm on purple.

I am rapid results plan...it says 1 starch= 2 WW bread slices(40-50 cal each). The Manager at my center told me that I could have 2 slices of ww bread/1 pita/...etc...as long as the calorie limited to 100 cal.

My COD told me that bread for 1 starch =110 cal or less. This was for the numbered plan.

I am new to LAWL and the center that I go to told me that 1 starch = 100 calories.

Different counselors will give you different answers about this eternal question of how many starches to count for this. At least they used to, until the numbered plans came out and declare 2 slices of this bread as one starch. I think some counselors liked to get you to cut even more calories since they believed you'd be more successful if you did that, which is not always true. I had the one really great counselor that said you should cut back to the lower end of the 50-100 calorie starch range if you find yourself stalled, but other than that don't get too over concerned.
