Calorie Shifting Anyone?

  • So I have searched the forum all morning trying to find anyone familiar/postings with calorie shifting, I myself am learning about it & doing it at the same time. Anyone familiar? I am not going to buy the downloadable book version thing of Calorie Shifting, only cause I think I can shift my healthy choices on my own. Anyway, I am looking for others who want to swap ideas, menu's & tricks about Calorie Shifting!

    Haney
  • Did you read through the calorie counter's forum? Lots of folk over there have done it.
Some folks on WW also do the "Wendie" plan which is similar.

Don't forget to search for "calorie cycling" as well. It is another common term for the same process.

I can tell you that I didn't cycle intentionally, but calorie cycling is a natural part of my plan. I had/have a range of calories - and I stay within my range. As I have special events come up, I plan for them by lowering my calories for a few days, so that I can be a bit more relaxed with my plan during those special times.

I also used calorie cycling intentionally when I hit a plateau. So, I do believe that there is some merit to shifting or cycling.

So, if you don't get any responses here - make sure you post the same question in the calorie counter's forum. They are a GREAT group what has lots of ideas that will help

    And, I almost forgot:

  • Hmmmm - I didn't know there was an actual name for this. I lost all the weight I have lost NOT counting calories. Don't get me wrong - I read packages and am aware of fat content etc - but I intentionally DO NOT count calories and vary what I eat because it seems like common sense to me. When you take in the same amount of calories all the time your body will begin to expect it and will slow down your metabolism to "store" fat. It's sure worked for me.
