Default wedding weightloss?

i am going to be in a friends wedding in 5 months and i am hoping i can lose about 1/2 the weight i want to drop by then....i am currently at 225 and would like to get down to 155 eventually - but would like to be around 185 for the wedding, since i dont want to look just awful in my bridesmaid dress.

I am planning on wokring on about 5 days a week with a mix of cardio and weights but i am having a hard time with my diet....there is so much confilcting advice out there and i have been through the ringer before gaining and losing this time i want to change my life and make the healthy choices permanent....any suggestions?

also do you think the 40 pounds in 5 months is at all doable?

A good way to start is to write down everything you are eating normally for the next two or three days. Then you can add up the calories using an online site like fitday or the daily plate, and see how many calories less you need to eat to lose a pound or two pounds a week (also online). Or if you don't like the idea of counting calories every day, making small changes like adding in 2 servings of vegetables to dinner, switching from white breads, pasta and rice, to whole grain is a good idea. As you go along you can make more healthy choices, it really will add up!

2 pounds a week is quite possible. Pick a diet that you will follow qnd stick to it. I find calorie counting is the most effective for me.
