A diet suggestion?

  • Please suggest a diet that I might lose 10 lbs in 10 weeks. My state is having a contest to help overweight people to get healthy. If we can lose the 10 lbs in 10 weeks we could win a money prize of $250. Thanks for your help.

  • I would think most any of the diets would give you that result as long as you are burning more calories than you take in.
    It depends a lot on your weight, age, health, food preference ect. Tell us a little more about you and maybe we can be better help.

  • patricia - depending upon your height and starting weight, virtually any healthy plan will allow you to lose about a lb. a week.

    Calorie counting is my method of choice. It works, It's free, and you can find a great forum here with lots of info to get you started.
  • A pound a week is doable. A pound and a half or 2 pounds a week is not unusual and would still be a healthy loss. How musch do you weigh now and how tall are you ? Cutting calories along with exercise will bring about a loss. Depends how many calories a day you are eating. Do not go below 1200 calories a day. I find counting calories works best for me.

    I live in the state of Alabama. I have about 85 lbs to lose. So this is just a start of what I have to do to reach my goal. Thanks for your help
