Default 170 lb - is it possible to lose without exercising and just calorie counting?

Hi everyone,

I was just curious. When I was 200 lb I lost at least 20-25 lb just by doing Weight Watchers (basically calorie counting) and no exercise.

I then began to exercise 4x weekly and calorie count and got down further to 155 lb.

For the past two years I have not calorie counted and just exercised 4x weekly and basically maintained and/or gained.

How many people starting at about 170 lb can lose weight by JUST calorie counting and not much exercise?

Not that I'm planning to never exercise, I'm just curious to know.

thanks!

Not me. I don't think I work out half so strenuously or often as many people seem to, but I did start with yoga from the beginning, and added running in August, and I'm about to add resistance bands.

But I have lost, like you, with only exercising. This was about 10 years ago. I don't think it would have worked this time. This time I had much, much more to lose, I was eating much, much worse (and for a long time), I was much more sedentary and unhealthy to start with. Plus, you know, I was ten years older this time
