It was hardly a burp . . . lots of rain, but not even very windy . . . at least not right around here. There were some places in Atlantic Canada that had a lot of flooding, but here in northern NS, we got quite lucky.
Welcome back, Linda! I hate computer stuff- I think the worst part is the helplessness to fix things yourself. It's to the point that unless you've really studied computers, you either need to ask favors of people who have or you need to pay people to help. Speaking of which, we're going to bring mine to my daughter on Sunday so she can get the new one up and running while we use the old one. I get to see how the puppy's doing, too, so it's a good deal at the cost of dinner out for everyone.
Another beautiful morning in northern NS . . . hope things are glorious in your neck of the woods too.
After I got home yesterday and started playing around with the computers, I decided I'd need to 'go to town' again today to find a book -- something along the lines of "An Idiot's Guide to Vista for Dummies" might be appropriate.
Hi, Happy Weekend:-)
I've had a good week even though I've had a visit from 'Granny'. I had a craving for 'something' so I made some Fluff (cottage cheese FF, jell-o SF, cool whip FF, pineapple & manderin) It has been good. The portion is large and it's only 200 cal.
Have a great weekend Ladies!
Lots of rain here, too. Looks like we'll have more coming from the hurricane in the next day or two, also. Gas prices sure have jumped, and just in time for us to take a day trip to see my grandpuppy again!
Hi all - just got in after two days of a craft show (whew - loooonnng weekend to have a headcold, sinus infection and TOM!)(I know, TMI!). Glad to be home and will be heading to bed shortly. Don't know if I stayed on the food course, but I will see soon.
The peach salsa was really delicious on the chicken. I have made the chicken several times. It is good, too. The carrot cumin slaw recipe is from Martha Stewart "Everyday". It is ok and went well with the rest of the meal.
I subscribe to EatingWell magazine. I also bought their diet book. I like their recipes and I think the diet book is a good one. I think it says the same things most good diet books say, I just happen to like the way they say it. They mention Barbara Rolls.
Yesterday we battled through the edges of hurricane Ike to go to Ann Arbor and see our kids, grandpuppy and drop off our "new" computer at my daughter's house. We ended up at Mongolian BBQ for dinner, and that's actually an easy place to stay OP. They even offer brown rice, which I don't remember from earlier visits. Sure is noisy in there, though.
So now it's Monday again, back to the old grind. Not to make you jealous, Gail, but we got about 6 inches of rain from Ike. All my riper tomatoes in the garden popped- it was just too much rain. I think we sent the rain to you, Linda.
I was wondering where you get all your recipes from, Gail. Maybe it's a combination of magazines, books and browsing the internet?
