We have had a tough week. We have some good friends who have a son who was diagnosed with a inoperable brain tumor in November. She asked me to bring the puppy over for the little boy to see on Saturday. On Saturday night, we went over to visit. The pup was so sweet, licking his face, and tunneling under his blankets to cuddle. It was so nice to be able to do something for him. He has been totally paralyzed except for his eyes since the new year. His moms have had such a rough time. Anyways, she called Sunday morning to say that he had slipped into a coma and the hospice nurse said he would not wake up. He died late Sunday night. We just got home from the viewing, and the funeral is in the morning. Man, it was hard to see him like that. It is so hard to know what to say, you know? Every parents worst nightmare. So, send some love to my friends, won't you? Anyways, hopefully I can be back with you all tomorrow after this week slows down. I am starting a different diet plan on Monday. I will share more details later.

Hi Amy- We are going to spend a week down in Yellowstone. Down in Katie's stomping grounds. We chose a spot somewhat halfway for the families to get together for some fun. It will be almost a year since we have seen any of the family. I'm glad that you had fun camping.

I have been in a good mood so far this week about the W/L. I've been pretty close to POP so far-there were a couple things outside of my control (catered dinner at my meeting) but I made the best choices possible and talked myself out of some bad decisions. Felt great to have the inner-fat girl shut up for a while!

Nicole- I hope DD is ok. Sounds like DBF is completely immature. I know you've also said that his parents are a little off. I'm so sorry DD isn't getting the support she needs from him and his family. I hope she was ok after she got home from her appt. I can't imagine how emotional this is for her and your family. I love the name Maria by the way. I've run it by DF a few times when the topic of future baby names has come up....keep us updated!

Debbie-I hadn't been camping since I was VERY young. It was a true adventure and I love doing anything different, especially with my fiance! I'm not sure I could do it for a whole week, but 2 nights was just right.

I cant believe how small Ali is, geez to be 122lbs . She looks great & she deserves the win. Bernie really shocked me with how he looks. Its amazing.

Thanks all, for the comments on the head shot.. I had it taken last week, so the media could use it when I do phone interviews about fires... The Albuquerque ABC affiliate did a phone interview with me last week during a fire and little did I know but they put up a picture of me from a couple years ago when my face was considerably fatter.. I got all kinds of comments from people in the office, so I figured I'd better provide them with a new shot.. They usually just capture a frame of video and use that when doing a "phoner", but for some reason they didn't update it with a more recent shot..

I felt embarassed to ask them to use the new shot, as it made me feel rather self-aggrandizing, but seeing that old picture made me want to hurl...

Katie.. How sweet of you to bring your pup to visit the little boy.. I can't imagine what he and his family are going through, so even the small joy a puppy can bring is really significant. Dogs have a second nature that makes them so valuable to provide comfort.. They seem to know that something's wrong and their instinct is to show affection..

Nicole, I get so frustrated when I hear what is going on with your DD. It reminds me of my self. My mom was supportive but not to the point you are and I think that is great! Katie - I am so sorry for the lose of your friends little boy. That is so sad. I am praying for the family. I am glad that you were able to spread a little sunshine before he passed.

I actually wanted to go camping for our anniversary this month, but DH didn't want to. My mother has a cabin on the lake so he says why not use that. Plus it is a lot of work for us women. But I think the campfire would be fun. I may still try to do something like that soon though.

Well I have a foundation with Blocks on it. Whooo Hooo. It will be the middle of next month before we get to do anything else. But we are just happy to see some progress. DH just stood out there for about 1.5 hours yesterday looking.

I haven't weighed in over a week. I can't stay focused for more than a few days at at time. I have got to get a grip, but this cold weather is just killing me. Excuses, Excuses, Excuses.

Hi friends :) Thank you all for your kind words. I want to thank you each personally, but I HAVE to conquer my laundry today. I am giving myself a little treat if I get it done........one can of paint. I know.....some treat, right......but I LOVE painting......and since I am still walking on plywood floors in my kithcen, dining, and living rooms.........I figured why not make them red. At least I will feel happy when I vacuum them :)

Katie......your friend is so lucky to have you :) I cannot imagine what they or you are going through. You are exactly right......it is every parent's worst nightmare. God will get them through this.....and remember.....there is one more perfect angel in heaven now, who never, ever, ever, has to suffer again :hug:.

So, DD's appointment went fine. She is measuring at 34 cm, and she is 34 weeks along. Baby's heartbeat sounds great, and DD's BP was good. For this, I am thankful. I still cannot get over the fact that my baby is going to give birth. I wish I could do it for her.

I have to ask you, Cecilia.....since you have been down this road from my DD's perspective......how do you feel about DH and I asking for gaurdianship? DD is all for it........but she is young and inexperienced in life. I am just curious what your opinion on it is. I want to be sure we are making the right decision. The paralegal we saw was all for it, and thought it was a very good thing to do......but he was never a teen mom, you know. We have an appointment with the lawyer today at 4:00 to get everything set up. We cannot file until the baby has a SSN, but everything will be ready to go when we get it. Oh, so many many decisions......

Ok, I am going to be strict with myself today......I am going to get some work done right now :)

Oh, by the way......I got my hair chopped off yesterday. I am still adjusting, but when I feel a bit more brave, I will document it with a picture and share it with all of you :)

Nicole, I am sure your DD is under a lot of stress right now. I can't remember if you said she was in school right now or not but I was and you guys offering to take a bit of the stress off of her shoulders I am sure is a huge relief. Especially since she doesn't have the support of her ex-DBF. My Ex and I were not together for much of the pregnancy period and I was very emotional. Stressed with school my emotions, feeling overwhelmed. Wondering why the dad didn't want to be with me or help me. So many things we did end up getting back together and I think that was probably even more stressful! HA! But I think what you guys are doing is great and it's not like it's forever... it's still her baby and I am sure she knows that and appreciates all of your help and support! ; )

Happy Wednesday all... another week half gone. How do your weekend plans look? Were going to a parent/kids fair with Dora there so that should be fun. My name is Kim and I've been an LAWL slacker!! I need a swift kick to the tushie. I havent been eating all that bad but I havent been to WI in over 3 weeks. Last time I was there I told the assistant manager that I was tired of having to come and WI. I've been doing maintenance for 6 months and I'm just over it! LOL I've made an appointment with her for Friday so I'll make sure and go! I know I NEED to keep going but its just wearing me out. I come home and see their number on my caller ID and I just want to yell, LEAVE me alone! I know they're doing their job and I should be grateful that they've missed me but UGH! I know I need the accountability of going to WI and that ticks me off too that I feel like I cant do this on my own after a year and a half.
