Nicole, It is all you can really do, love them and pray for the best, as sometimes the Lord knows better than we do what that is. Well, it really was only a matter of time before it became very obvious. Not that your daughter is quite at the "cautionary whale" stage. That was a line from Juno, which if you have not gone and seen that one, you really must. It was foolish in the extreme for the boy friend to think that he could keep that a secret when you guys are neighbors. I found my DDex- boyfriend's parents to be a little lax in the whole grandchild prevention watch too....

Katie, I think I finally turned that voice mostly off, the one that says when I lose weight I will, or the one that constantly said I need to lose weight. The silence inside my head was a bit profound, as I had a lot of internal chiding about losing weight. A constant lecturing of myself that did no good at all. Now I have switched to a constant lecture about eating my veggies and doing some exercise, so if you find yourself beating yourself up for your weight, just switch all that negativity, since you can't lose 50 pounds in a day, to eat your veggies, since you can eat your servings of veggies and get at least a half an hour of exercise in a day, every day, so there is some action to take when that internal voice goes off.

Happy Friday everyone,

I have been lurking on and off for the week but usually I just check my email, read a few posts and get off this thing the last few days. I spend all day on a computer and work has been stressful as of late as I am being primed to take over a huge project from a girl going to a new position and I am a tad overwhelmed at the prospect so its been a quick but long week. I am very glad its the weekend.

Tomorrow the hair is getting chopped off too. Right now its about 4-5" past my shoulders and when I am done it will be just above or touching my shoulders. I took a census from friends and such and they all liked my hair better that length too. A little more styling time is involved but not a lot. We'll see how it goes. Then sunday I will color it again. Maybe I'll try to sucker someone into taking a picture if I get the guts to. I HATE my picture being taken.

I will be so glad when our long weekend comes next week. Easter is a holiday up here. We need the break. Or I do at least!!

Diet front has been ok. Not perfect by any means but I haven't been putting the whole heart into it either. but this weekend I am getting some stuff cooked up to freeze and have for lunches and quick suppers. One pot Taco is on the menu and some turkey meatballs and maybe some chicken chili. I find it really helps when I don't feel like cooking to be able to pull a container out of the freezer and go.

Guess that's it for me right now. Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Okay, I don't have time to read 6 pages of posts, but wanted to take a minute to say HI and wish everyone well. I'm still chugging along here. I've got 3 paid-for weight loss weeks left. I've got 2.9 lbs to goal and I'll try to get another 2-3 lbs. off for good measure. I want a little wiggle room when I start stabilization. I'm really worried about the maintaining part of this deal. That's always been the deal-breaker for me. Once I get motivated, I can lose, but to make it stay lost is more of a challenge. Oh well, I'll manage somehow. Take care everyone and stay motivated!

Barbara- To me, that positive mindset of yours is one of big reasons that you are at your goal and maintaining. Thanks for sharing.

AMY!!!! WOW, WOW, WOW I love the ring! it is so different from most settings. What will the band look like? I don't think I have said it yet, but CONGRATS!! I am so happy for you. cherish every second of being the bride to be and the new bride, just like babies.... the time goes so fast and before you know it you have been married forever. which is not a bad thing, but there is just something so fun and new about being that new bride. DH and I will celebrate 20 years this oct. I can't believe it.

Nicole -- your DD is soooo pretty. what does the ExBF look like? that baby is bound to be really cute..... maybe she should just give it to me! ( I tell that to all new moms. and none of them have given me thier babies yet! there is a lady at church that just had her 3rd. she had to little girls and now has this beautiful baby boy. She is white and her husband is black and those kids are so pretty.... but no. she won't let me have him! )

so Nicole, guess where we are going for spring break??? ST LOUIS! we are going with DH. he has to go there for work on thursday next week so we are going to drive over on Wednesday and come home on Friday. Thursday while DH is at work. the kids and I will go to the Zoo. well, three of the kids anyway, the teens are staying home and taking care of the house and the pets. they would rather sleep all day and watch TV and play on the computer than go to a zoo.

We went and saw the specialist yesterday with DH and everything is good, he is recovering nicely and should make a full recovery. thanks again for all the prayer from you all.

Hey ladies...

Sorry I've been AWOL.. We've had a HUGE fire here in New Mexico and I got assigned to it yesterday.. I've been traveling for two days straight now and i'm dead tired.. Wouldn't be so bad but I spent Friday helping to plant trees in 50mph winds in a town called Santa Rosa.. The whipping wind tires you out..

Anyway, the fire looks better today, after burning 75,000 acres. But we lost 5 homes and lots of other stuff. No injuries, thank God..

Gotta tell you, I'm getting tired of not being home.. I missed another of Danny's soccer games today. I'm sure glad we'll be gone on vacation in a week.. That way I won't have to worry about getting called away... During the summer, this kind of thing is fun, but it's too early in the year for this..

Sorry to vent..
