Megan, I also am doing a little weight loss to correct the vacation indulgences (3 weeks of vacation followed by two weeks of the flu caused a long series of off plan days). You are totally right. This isn't about what you did on one day or what you ate in one sitting. It is about changing your whole life by changing your habits. I've gone over the 1 year mark now on LAWL and about 6 months on maintenance. I read today that consistency is the magic pill.. just consistently getting back on plan will lead you to a much thinner self, eventually.
Anyway, don't give up because of one slip up.... The rest of your life is a long time and you will want to eat from time to time. The thing is to learn how to fit it into the plan and how to recover when you've slipped off plan. There will be vacations and sicknesses and celebrations and times when you were just a little weak and ate the whole subway sandwich, even though you knew you shouldn't... Heck... I just got back from a lunch at a chinese place, and that was NOT on plan and I know I will bloat with the salt, but you know what. I'll pick really light choices for dinner, try to cut the salt for a day or two and I will be just fine.
