The LA plan is based on portions of foods from different food groups. Everyone has a different plans but the one I am on now is the following:
Breakfast: 1 starch, 1 fruit, 1/2 protein
Lunch: 1 starch, 1 fruit, 1 protein, 2 veggies
Dinner: 1 starch, 1 fruit, 1 protein, 2 veggies
I usually shift my fruits to mid morning and mid afternoon snacks. There is a huge list of foods that fall into each catagory. There are also frozen meals you can buy at the grocery store (healthy choice, lean cuisine, etc.) and eating out guides.
You also must have 1 dairy, 1 fat, and at least 64 oz of water a day. You also can have 2 LA Lites which are bars, shakes, soups, drinks, etc that can be bought at the center.
It is an easy plan to follow and I really like the one on one counseling you get at the centers. If you have any more questions let me know!
