Red face Pita chips

1 wheat pita
olive oil
Morton's Light Salt

Divide pita into 2 sections ( top and bottom halfs). Cover each half,on the rough side, lightly with olive oil ( I used a pastry brush). Sprinkle with salt. Cut into pieces about 6 or more depending on the size you want. Place on a cookie sheet and cook in oven at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Turn over and cook for another 6 minutes.

I have these when I am craving salty crispy tortilla chips.

Tweeteach - sounds good. I assume it's 1 Starch and 1 Fat (my book says 1 tsp olive oil = 1 Fat; 1 4" pita = 1 Starch.....)

I know its a starch but I am not sure about the fat, my COD told me that if you were cooking with it you didn't count it. I am really not sure.

The other thing that I have done is used no fat cooking spray instead of oil - and then had 2 tbsp of guacomole with the baked pita chips for 1 starch and 1 fat. In fact, I'm having it right now

Sounds great and last night I was trying to figure something out to go with my salsa - this would have been perfect.

Another variation- I use ICBINB spray and spread it with a pastry brush, then add garlic powder. So good!
